First time with this producer. Effusive nose that reminds of Cos, I kid you not, with tobacco and that mild poopy thing. By aroma, no sign of an off-year; that dawns on you though on the palate where it's quite austere. Gets better with protein (we had lamb chops).

Pretty good. For people that prefer young wines this is drinking really well. Good moderated fruit, nice tannic structure and acidity. Some light mature hints starting to poke through. If you like older wines, I would wait 5 more years for more mature notes, but its fine now.

Incongruent that I opened this bottle while listening to Andre Bocelli as I normally reach for Italian wine by default, but I had French Raclette and (gasp) Ritz crackers. Dark ruby red, medium legs and some sediment. Fresh on the nose. I get plums and red fruit, low tannins and just a bit of oyster shell that hints of the terroir of the place. Why do people pay hundreds for a Bordeaux (even me)? Probably a better palate then me. I bought this a while back for $24. Con Te Partiro...

Tobacco, herbs, dark berry, and leather on the nose. Medium palate with cigar leaf, cedar, and plum with integrated tannins on the finish. Not a lot of depth but a smooth drinker. Nice earthy old world style and a good QPR.

Chocolate and spearmint on the nose. Velvet tannins with floral and hibiscus and light lychee notes throughout the palate. Extremely lovely and soft. Drink now. Lovely wine drinking at its peak.

Dark mahogany in color, this wine revealed aromas of cassis, saddle leather, cigar leaf, cedar, blackberry and plum on the nose. The mouth feel was full bodied and brought added notes of mocha and blackberry. The finish was tight and reluctant to fully open even over the 90 minutes it was open. 13% abv.
Purchased for $18US/375ml, this wine has all the components to become much better with another 3+ years of bottle age.

Had aromas of plums, flowers, cassis, iron and chocolate. Its medium bodied nicely ripe and solid linear palate has nice concentration, decent acidity and stylish oak. Ends medium, a little unknit and lightly but finely tannic. Could be laid down for a couple of years. Good for a 2011. Needs a couple of hours aeration. Drink with rare rib eye steak and hard mountain cheeses.

I thought this was a very good QPR at around $21-22. The wine itself had good components of a Bordeaux and did well with grilled steak. Easy drinking with a nice finish.

Considering the year, a solid effort for a Bordeaux. Used it in Beef Borgouignon and drank the rest. Reasonable nose, slightly tanic finish. Amazing in the food.
Not especially complex, and a little green on the back palate, but overall easy drinking and fair value. Its not going to have a long life, so drink over the next 2-4 years.

Decanted 1 hour. Pronounced nose of leather upon decanting. A rather bold aroma out of bottle. Good legs not outstanding but for the value very good profile. Rich dark color. Soft regional tannins. Not overbearing but full flavor profile. A distinctive bing cherry taste. A nice wine.

Looks the part. Saturated black ruby, pretty much opaque, with decent legs. Nose is full and rich: graphite, smoky oak, black fruits. Firm in the mouth, sleek, with fine black berry fruit. There is tannin that needs shedding but this is quite good, would be even better with a savory piece of meat. 5-13-16-8: 92/100.

Day 1: 1hr decant. Started with fruits (but not ripe), light-med body, soft tannin, some earth, chocolate. Finishes pretty good. When wine was unfolding in mouth.. (I guess mid palate) wine was light, almost a bit diluted.... this phenomenon went away after a few more hours
Day 2: fruit toned down a lot, much more tobacco, herbs, earthiness, med-full body, integrated tannin, very enjoyable. After another hour, fruit came back a bit, dark fruits.
Overall, very enjoyable wine. Some modern traits, but overall old world bordeaux. Wine may not exactly in balance during day 1, but came around in day 2. Got quite a bit going on in that bottle. Will try again next year.

Been through a few of these from Costco, can't remember the exact price but it's $20 or less. It's pretty tight at first but if left alone it really shines after 24-48 hours. I will probably buy a few to lay down for 5-10 years, I bet it'll be a beauty in 2025. Great fruit, ample acidity, and fine grained tannins.

Chateau Lilian Ladouys is consistently among my top 5 for wines under $30. The 2011 vintage does not disappoint. #72 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2014, it is ready to drink now through 2018. This is, in my opinion, best drunk as a "stand-alone" -- the tannins are well-rounded and integrated with a nice, palate-fulfilling dark fruit. Excellent medium finish, acidity does not overwhelm. I drank this over 3 days, and it did not decay over that time! Strongly encourage the purchase of a case if you can find one!

We decanted it for 30 minutes. It was very tight with a splash of menthol, load of herbal spices and some eucalyptus on the palate. We waited for another hour and sampled it. Elected to put it back in the bottle and it was totally different (and better) on day 2! A great wine for the $$ that doesn't fall apart after one day.

This is a full-bodied wine that is very dark red in the glass. Upon opening, I was welcomed by the aromas of olive brine and cherry. On the palate this wine was very tart. Left corked overnight and the next day, came back to find quite a different wine. Black cherry, anise, and green herbs on the nose. The same on the palate with more emphasis on the herbaceous flavors. Enjoyable, Merlot-forward Bordeaux.

Immediate nose of chicken poop and blackberry; quite decent and full on the palate with good fruit and a bit of herb for first hour or so but shut down hard by the third. Interesting critical history: Jancis only gives it 83 pts but The Speck put it in their Top 100. No comprende!

Healthy dark purple-ruby. Decent viscosity. Dark black fruits in the nose, minerals and graphite. Generous mouthful of plump black fruit, still cloaked with tannin after sitting open in the bottle overnight. Approachable now with decanting, but could use more time in bottle. 4-11-15-8: 88/100.
