MAGNUM Vintage Port (CUT restaurant Beverly Hills): Out of 2 750’s, one btl corked the other, which i drank from was in perfect condition. Tour de force. All the elements were in line. Color, depth, palate and finish. I experience this wine maybe 25 years ago and it is a treasure at 96+years old. Prolific declarations by all the port houses.

Outstanding, medium red with some browning. Concentrated fruit, complex with very long. Drunk over two days- remained as strong day 2. Can evolve further. A rare treat ad almost a crime to drink!

The 1927 Taylors Vintage Port is neither too young nor too old but just right. It has a gorgeous floral, spirit lift coupled with aromas of bitter chocolate, iodine and raisins. In the mouth it is lacy, full and gentle, filling the mouth with highly perfumed flavours and finishing dry, savoury and long.

Magnums for Dave (Jean-Georges - New York, NY): My notes were brief at this point in the evening. Good aromas and flavors, but not the nuance and complexity we hoped for from great old Port.

Pale and rusty colour, translucent at the edge. It would be easy to be intimidated, drinking such a venerable wine, but this is lovely. There is a fine attack of spicy acidity, to compliment the candied fruits. Smooth, so smooth, with a satisfying mouthfeel. There is still plenty of backbone and length, with the finish developing in the glass. exc+

Great vinous aromas of cool fruit, chocolate and much more. Sweet, intense and super elegant in the mouth, with a dry finish. Great structure.

No formal note taken. Good, not great, and was substantially outperformed by the 22 Croft it was paired with.
