  • Solid, still drinking well. PNP deep dark fruit, pencil, baking chocolate, slight vanilla, glass staining, full bodied crushing wine. Structure was balanced with a finish was shorter than expected. Next day, well reserved still showing good, heat was in check. Might have been magical with a 2 hour decant on the first night.

  • Upon pouring, this wine opens with an exciting, extremely deep, brooding and intense purple- ruby color and with a lightly jammy, muted nose. On the palate, it went completely downhill. With a color that is intriguing and intense, this Cabernet fell effectively flat on the palate. This wine is a little too cute and elegant for me. On the palate this Cab was tight, tart, dark cherry, currents and tart blue and black berry that appear perfect in color, yet underdeveloped, just not ripe enough. With about eight years in the bottle, I just don't know what the future holds for this Napa California Cabernet. RP gives this wine 92 Points calling it: 'a deep ruby color and purple tinge. Layered aromas include generous cassis, super-ripe raspberry and despite the initial radiance and sweetness of the fruit, there is plenty of underling structure and sheer power here.' l don't see it and for the price point, which runs up to about $140. I paid $80 for my bottle, but I would not buy it again in view of the numerous choices available in the Napa Valley in the $80-$100 price range. 89.5 Points

  • Very juicy and over ripe. Syrupy and over extracted.
