At its peak the 2010 Turley Heminway is a deep ruby color. Black cherries, licorice, and a touch of smoke in the nose. Blueberries, raspberries and spice in the flavor. A well balanced wine with a long very smooth and soft finish. Great with pizza.

A treat for all of the senses. Visually appealing with big, gripping legs and deep, clear ruby red. Very interesting on the palate with a melange of liquified ripe blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and black cherries, with a rush of flavor in the finish. But the real treat is in the bouquet where you can imagine yourself stepping into a cool, smoky, incense-filled church. Stunning, and a great QPR. (= Outstanding)

Typical Turley nose of bramble pie; palate with lots of black/blue fruit, some spicy notes, a little pepper, with a LONG finish. IMO this has a few more years to go. Enjoy!!!

Juicy cranberry and some licorice aroma. Initial flavor impression of raspberry and cranberry is lush and full-bodied but disappears into chewy/fuzzy tannins and ends with a fair amount of heat.

Quite good, with ripe black fruits (plums, blackberry) and pepper. Juicy and persistent, with lively structure. The fruit remained lively and fresh, almost getting overripe, but not crossing the line. My only gripe with the wine was the apparent alcohol, which was not as well masked as other wines in this stable. Nice BBQ wine, however. UPDATE: This really improved on day two, become more integrated, less alcoholic and generally more smooth.

Big nose right out of bottle. Primarily red fruits, mint and licorice. In the mouth, up front strawberry and watermellon. Then blends to tobacco and brambles. Fruit persists. Strong backbone of acidity. Leather also.

Delicious and deep--probably has a few years good drinking left. Holds its high alcohol well with good acid and gobs of fruit.

Smooth on opening; soft tannins; slight spice; dark red fruit flavor of modest intensity and depth; pleasant finish.

Big alcoholic turley lacking the complexity of the best old vines. Still big beautiful bold fruit and body.

Deep purple color. Restrained bouquet. Spicy, rich deep fruit that is quite fruity in a concentrated way. Curious about how this wine will evolve.

Dark, ripe and enticing. Lots of fruit - blackberry, raspberry and blueberry. A surprisingly velvety finish with just a hint of pepper.

A bit hot and pruny the first night. More reserved and integrated the second night. Very good but not among Turley's best

Instantly approachable - very delicate but pure flavors. One of the more smooth Turley zins.

Red and black fruit, I'd give this one a bit more time in the bottle to settle down.
