This 10 years old private selection did exceed my expectation. Flavored of dry prunes and figs. A vivid dark red color Can be drunk now or wait for another 3 to 5 years. Finish is still tannic.

Garnet color. Fast. Fading fruit, light toast, medium oak with fairly pronounced tannins. Medium body and medium finish. Neutral. Was probably better a couple of years ago.

Nose better than palate. One dimensional with raisin overpowering other fruits. Weak tannins. Drink now (11-08), this is not going to get any better. About what you would expect from a $10 wine. No great value, but drinkable.

Drank the bottle with some friends over the holidays. Really took forever for the wine to even open up a little to have a little flavor with it. Pretty tart. Really unimpressed. Ok, cheap, drinkable wine but there are better ones out there in this price range.

Harsh wine. My "alcoholic" friend who knows nothing about wine and will drink anything complained about this one. Rarely does wine go down the drain at our home, and this is one of the exceptions. Very tart, I couldn't imagine that cellar time, or decanting could do anything to this wine.

Tart. Might need aging. Or perhaps just poorly done. Feels unrefined. Harsh finish. Surprising to me since I usually find most Mondavi's ok. For the price there are many better choices out there. Skip this one. 83.

This wine is barely hanging together. A little chintzy with the usual fruit and hints of cassis. Medium to thin concentration and body. Short, mildly tannic finish ending with an off sour note. Probably needs a little time for the back end to smooth out, but by then any other of the few redeeming qualities will have faded. Boring wine, but I knew what I was getting into. For $12 take a risk with something else.

- Garnet color with fast forming legs and aromas of prune. It's high in alcohol with a light/medium body. Smooth texture with a short finish.

Dark. Fairly flat nose. Some interesting flavors, but nothing to rave about. Nobody's gonna hate it, but nobody'll love it either.

Less than sterling experience. Too tart (perhaps too young) but with less flavour than I would like. Average finish.
