Light straw, hint of green edges, hint of citrus on nose, palate is medium bodied and crisp with stone fruits and Fuji apple, acidity is in balanced and soft, ever so slight of hint of effervescence and an herbal, faint mint finish.

Un nez tout en fraîcheur avec des notes citronnées et d'herbe fraîche. La bouche contraste un peu avec le nez par son côté miellé voir gras. Bien mais je regrette ne pas avoir plus de tension en bouche.

Very fresh und crisp on the nose, more sea spray than typical green bean gruner. Starts out with just a bit of extra CO2 fizz, which calms with a few minute of air and some swirling, I assume this is a strategy to keep the wine fresh under screwcap. Love these 2011 Gruners, so crisp, minerally, chalky, stony, with reserved, even austere, but flavorful fruit up front, plenty of acidity, a thinking wine, but not one for those attracted to riper, more voluptuous vintages. Like drinking Gruner flavored water from a high mountain spring. A joy.

Day 1: Not much going on in the nose. Floral and citrus aromas but not much else. Palate: Simple and a bit flat on the initial attack. Light in weight, even a bit watery in the mid palate. Simple flavors of lemon and a hint of peach skins. The acidity at the end saves it from disaster. Def. not worth the $25 price tag. Let's see how it is tomorrow.
Day 2: After 9 holes at 8am, on this beautiful 4th of July, had with a cheese plate and arugula, fresh mozzarella, and heirloom tomato salad. The wine has improved but not much. A bit more weighty with green apple and floral/ herbal notes. Better but nothing special. 86 today.

This is a wine about expectations. Expectations for Gruner, expectations for the vintage. 2011 was a difficult, cool vintage, but somehow this wine rises above what it should be to show beautifully piercing flavors. What some might perceive as lean and perhaps underripe, I find elegantly flavorful. Reserved, lithe flavors, with a hint of gruner green, wonderful acidity, and great minerality. Has a distinct Chablis quality which I find really interesting. A very nice bottle.

Lemon-green with an evolved waxy and oily nose offering stone fruit, salad aromas along chamomile notes. No oak. More to the elegant side with zesty acidity and mineral flavours cutting through a rather long finish. Balanced with subtle complexity this is a terric value food-friendly wine.
Pale lemon-green. Medium intense aromas of peach, apricots, grapefruit, and a whiff of wax. Medium body, fruity, grapefruit also on the palate, medium + acid. Quite delicate, with pleasant aftertaste. Not ideal with sushi, an off-dry riesling would go better, but still a pleasant wine at an affordable price - around 25 $.

Good lime juicy white pepper notes classic to Gruner, but an oily oakines that reminded me more of a chard and lended heavy handedness. Hmmmm

Nose was reductive, apart from this it showed herbal notes and white fleshed fruit. Medium bodied with good acidity.

Simple aromatiquement, sur les agrumes et une pointe d'aneth, tres typique. Belle fraicheur en bouche, manque un peu de corps mais agreable.
