Simply delicious! - It was medium purple, showing traces of amber along the rim, it was very fruit forward, with notes of cherry, plum and spice on the notes, it was smooth and sweet on the palate with a medium finish (89 Points).

Fairly dark color - garnet? w/ very light meniscus. Initially thick/rich mouthfeel with a thin mid-palate finish. Nose of black cherries and currants with some florals. Nothing huge. Taste is not bold or big on fruit like you might expect from an Old Vine Zin. Somewhat acidic and not very sweet (high alcohol?). You might not even guess it was a Zin. I'm a bit surprised by this bottle because I think Bogle's Petite Syrah was very enjoyable and deep, whereas this wine is neither good nor bad. For a few dollars more, I prefer the Joel Gott and for about the same price I prefer De Loach.

Just wanted an everyday bottle of zin to enjoy, good choice! Easy to drink, goes well with hearty soup or pasta. It has been cold and wet here in Norcal, so ALL my reds seem to be helping keep the chill out!

Very easy to drink Zin. Does have a lot to offer, but not as much as some Amador and El Dorado Zins. The old vine makes for a very rich and smooth wine, great full fruit flavors of blackberry, cherry and leather. No lingering aftertaste.

Fruit forward and smooth, not much finish nor as bold of a zin as I like or am used to. Can't be too upset w/ a price like that, but I think I prefer to drink my other zins regardless of price (grgich for one). I will still stick with my Bogle Petite Sirah though, that's a great wine value.

Somewhat one-dimensionally fruit-forward and spicy. Medium bodied, no finish. Pleasant enough for a pop & pour wine cocktail, and good QPR, but not really my kind of juice.

While the bottle we had wasn't your big, full of fruit and spice, in your face CA Zin there aren't many red wines in this price range regardless of varietal that will, in my opinion, score much higher than this one. A little high in alcohol which masked some of the fruit. However, it was a very pleasant drinking wine that I would not be ashamed to serve to guests at a casual dinner (we had it with burgers).

Disappointing. While not expensive, we have found better, even much better zins in the price range. I had labeled a Pedroncelli Mother Clone zin as disappointing in a recent tasting note – I would have to find a new word for either this one or the Pedroncelli; it is better than this Bogle zin. This one is little sharp (tannic?…too much tannin?…), a little thin, not much fruit…the cork had a cutesy saying printed on it: “Wine improves with age. I like it more the older I get.” This was attributed to an unknown author. I must admit this did not endear me to the wine, but my wife, who tasted the wine without the knowledge of Bogle’s attempt at clever packaging, didn’t like it either.

Berries. Black cherry. Chocolate. Licorice. Vanilla. Tannins are silky smooth. Drink now. Decant 30 minutes. Delicious.

Really lacking in fruit, lots of tannin, oak, but very little else. Not flawed, as far as I can tell, just not well balanced.

A nice typical Zin; Good value for the price, though not outstanding. I tend to prefer a darker inkier Zin with more character.

Not a huge nose. Fruit forward - Ripe, tart structure. High quality to cost ratio. Not as big as a lot of Zin's, but great for the cost.
