  • Fantastic success. Pure, meaty, powerful and elegant. A big risk for oxidation but fortunately Bacchus decided to give us this pristine gift. The slightly delicate character of the vintage works well with the weight of Montrachet. Held up for hours without the slightest hint of fade.

  • Easter Saturday Dinner with friends, Noosa. This wine opened beautifully with a pale green gold colour and a striking nose of white flowers, white nectarine and peach, poached pear and lemon oil. There are touches of nutmeg and aniseed with limestone notes. The palate is rich and deeply flavoured yet with tons of drive and grip providing great persistence. This has the friendliness and purity of many 2011s yet there is a ton of character and density to carry this forward for many years - cork willing !

  • There’s some candied peel, spiced pear, white peach and smoke. It is rich, muscular, layered and long. There’s so much power but it is under a tight minerally rein. Great detail and composure.

  • Way too young. This bottle was closed and not giving much. The winemaking is exquisite - incredible sweet french oach, subtle and elegant. Even after an hour of decanting is was still closed. Wait at least 5 years to open the next one.
