White Burgundy theme at Min Jiang: Thought this showed quite similarly to the O. Leflaive with a creamy texture and citrus fruit so I guessed 2014 Puligny. Well-integrated at this stage save for a slight sweetness on the finish. I love Drouhin’s reds but should seek out their whites too, they are decidedly old-school in the rounder style without being too heavy.

Clear, no sediment or crystallization. Medium gold in color. Clean nose. Surprised by the exuberant tropical nose. Notes of mango, papaya and pineapple are evident. Also, wet stones, toast, honey, and hay. It feels as if it is from a ripe vintage but it is very dry on the palate. Acidity is medium, alcohol is medium as well. It is full bodied with medium plus intensity. It is viscous and coats your palate easily. There are flavors of flowers, steel and honey. The finish is long and drying.
You can definitely feel the pedigree of this wine. Maybe without the elegance and finesse of Puligny but certainly with all the pomp and flamboyance of Chassagne.
Bought on release. At the winery in Beaune.

Very pale yellow with a restrained nose at first (served too cold?) which opened up in the glass to floral aromas initially. Rapidly evolves to white and yellow fruit - pears, a whiff of Alphonso mango and a bit of spice. Clean palate with a sinewy texture that emphasised the underlying mineral-infused tension. A lovely wine - fruits, minerals, spice and serious freshness and length. Chatting earlier with a friend and we both agreed that Drouhin tends to massively outperform it's price point. Loved this bottle.

Nice nose of flowers and yellow stone fruits. The palate shows a little oak and more yellow fruits with some nuts. Less intense than I expected. My other bottle will sleep.

Drank with Thanksgiving dinner. This was quite brilliant. There is a nice nose of fresh daisies, citrus and the mildest bit of oak. On the tongue there is almost a steely core surrounded by butter and the essence of quince, almond and flowers. It opened up even more as it approached room temperature. Just lovely.

Medium lemon gold. On the nose: oak sticks out a bit, buttery, toastier than the Meursault Perriere 2009. Notes of passion fruit, citrus peel, mineral, adding to the complexity. Very fine. Very long finish, medium plus acidity. Even better than already very fine meursault.

Quite a ripe nose here, hazelnuts and honey, crushed macadamia. Good focus; broad entry, much more generous than the Pulignys, richer, lots of flavour. Good acidity - moreish. Good potential here. Long finish. 91-93+

A bit less expressive nose and attack than I expected - feels almost a bit closed. But has lovely layering and good potential.

A little lactic. Pear, pineapple. Acid is excellent, elegant and delicious. Will last.
