Over the hill for sure. Alcohol, black pepper, and a touch of unripe tropical fruit on the nose and palate. Serious weight, low acid, and not as heavily oaked as I'd expected. On sale for $10, and simultaneously alluring and revolting.

General: Australia, McLaren Vale, Mollydooker --> well known for wines with high alcohol content.
Look: Light yellow with some green reflexions.
Smell: Floral Notes, pinapple, green pepper.
Taste: Dry, very alcoholic, low accidity.
Conclusion: Although technically ok, the wine has too much alcohol, is monotonic and is unbalanced. Moreover the price (approx. 18 EUR) is not reasonable. I prefer the reds from Mollydooker. Won't buy again.

The nose is not so bad but the palate is just awful.
Like a cheap vodka and vermouth cocktail that someone decided to treat with 300% new oak (although that might be overselling it); harsh pulp mill vanilla esters, astringent bitter herbal notes, very high alcohol, oily texture.
We could not finish the glass.
Poured some of this into a cream sauce before tasting it (just smelled to see it was not damaged) and the sauce turned out quite well so that's what keeping my score above 70.
Color: pale yellow with copious, long, spindly legs. Bouquet of grapefruit, spice, honeydew melon and pear. While the nose was fairly nice, the palate is an alcoholic mess. Overly big, blowsy, with a hot, acrid finish that obliterates any fruit, this is so not a real Verdelho. Go out at get some Spanish Verdelho. It'll probably be less expensive and almost assuredly a better wine.
BTW, when was the last time you had a dry white with 16% alcohol???
i love the audacity and the first sip was interesting, but it's really all heat and what i would guess is oak, but may be just out of control mlf or oak chips.
either way, it's gawdawful.

Yellow and thick in the glass. Nose of vodka, more heat, pear, hibiscus, butter, lemon and sage. Full body and a vodka soaked pear on the palate. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Decent quality. Burning, acidic long finish. I think fans of hot New World wines may enjoy this, but not me.

Wow....this is the last of 30 bottles! From start to finish, I will tell you that the wine does seem to get more concentrated. When it is "fresh", there is more citrus and lemon. As it sits for a year or so (I think the last bottle was consumed about 15 months after it was bought?) -- the wine is much more buttery, full bodied, darker yellow, creme brulee, apricot, and not so much citrus. I like both, so it's really awesome to see this one develop. Even more, I wish I had actually kept a bottle for another 4-5 years because this wine has some insane longevity. I remember a year or so ago I was flamed for leaving multiple high scores on a wine, so I will not score this one like I want to do. Let's just say that I like it....and I'm going to find the current vintage ...like, right now.

Good fruit flavors but alcohol has gotten away from them and it is hot both on the nose and the palate. Almost undrinkable, I am contemplating to use it for cooking. Quite disappointing.

Drank with grilled Ahi tuna with grilled zucchini, corn on the cob and tossed salad. A very good Viognier with a taste of banana and citrus. Pleasant and nicely balanced.

Delicious, over the top style - "big" doesn't quite describe this one. Huge round body reminiscent of a Rombauer style Chard. On the nose lemon custard, tangerine rind, pineapple and apple blossoms. On the palate, creamy lemon bar, blood orange, apple, some citrus rind, and a nice dark mineral note. Not overly complex but fun and dirt cheap for what it delivers. 16% so watch out!

One glass as an aperitif to dinner. Rest of the bottle will be consumed tomorrow. I want to see if there are any changes. When it comes to "budget" wines this wine is incredible and the QPR almost makes me rate this a 93 (flame away oh ye purveyors of "well it's ONLY about the taste of the wine"). This wine had some density to it - quite a bit of lemongrass and wet stone in the nose, tangerine and honeydew on the palate towards the front, going back to lemon with kiwi in the middle, and even a creme brulee note towards the end. Compared to the Scholium project Verdelho there is no comparison. Still not as full bodied as a good dense chard, but very enjoyable. I better slow down if I'm going to keep some of this for 3-4 years.
A ridiculously pleasing white wie. This one is starting to possess a slight hint of tart bite when it warms up. The QPR on this wine is ridiculous. They could come up with some excuse to increase the price and I'd probably still pay it. This grape is so versatile, and shows quite a bit of complexity when allowed to sit and open. The acidity and minerality this one possesses is quite high at this point. A definitely age-able white, drinkable over the next 5 years.

I was a part of this bottle at the very end and after it had warmed up to room temp. Even when served a room temperature, you still get a nice balanced bouquet. Very well made, and sadly only five left!

This wine is very consistent. Tonight it was basically tasted side by side with a sauv blanc that was almost 100% aged in concrete eggs. It's really amazing how much more layered this wine is. It has quite a bit of body to it, yet is soft and balanced. The spice is incredible, and the wine seems to stand up to aging. Very nice, but I can't seem to stay away from this wine - at this rate the case will be gone before any of it has a chance to age.

This one holds up to the others. Has just the right amount of minerality, complexity. Tangerine, pineapple and green apple is what I'm getting. Very very well balanced white wine that anyone will enjoy. Every red wine drinker that has tasted this wine has enjoyed it. This one will appeal to the most distinguished red wine palates. Love it. Drink now or cellar 5-7 years. We recently popped a 2008 violinist and it was amazing.

Best Mollydooker Violinist I've had, and purchased for $23/bottle with 3-day shipping and tax included in that price! Merry Christmas to ME! Better than an aged 08, better than the 2010 and 2011. MUCH more complex. Poured a very light yellow into the glass. The initial nose was all lemon. The palate was consistent with tangerine and some pineapple. As it sat on the palate, a lemon started to emerge. The finish was spicy, yet smooth and showed a bit of lemon meringue pie. Finish was 20 seconds easy. This wine will age well. There is no reason to suspect that this wine couldn't last until 2017 with the right storage.

Intersting wine for sure - nose of tangerine and baby organge / clementine fruit. It had an aroma of old-school hairspray, which was confounding yet interesting. Huge pineapple and tropical fruits as well. The palate was so huge and viscous - banana fruit and cantaloupe dominated the flavors, as did some alcohol. Interesting wine but not to my taste.

A light colour in the glass, with a youthful nose of musk, apricot and guava that adds interest.
Mandarin and grapefruit pair well with the tropical melon characters and provide great flavours and textures on the palate.
The finish has a slight astringency that is add odds to the well textured palate.
