Salty! This wine is absolutely lovely but it can't be called a generous or hedonistic Chamoagne. It's all about the soil and minerals now, and it's got great acidity and drive. Beautiful wine and shows the potential of 100% Meunier when done right. Not going to convert anyone into the grower extra brut camp. But if youre there already, there's a lot to love here

Small Gathering w/ Indian Food: Really interesting nose of musk, library books, clove and nettles on top of some red apples. Bright but vinous with a clean but crunchy feel. Tart red fruits mix with elements of toasted nuts and a fresh sense of salinity. An interesting Pinot Meunier side journey from the Champagnes I’m used to. That said, I found a lot of quality in this wine.

Got better with 30 minutes airtime and was luscious, creamy and elegant Pinot Meunier bubbles. Great balance between the tart acids and gorgeous red apple flavors.

Enjoyed at a Szechuan restaurant with food that I should have known would probably overwhelm the wine, but I remembered it as so vinous...And it was vinous, and deep and assertive and balanced and with great depth of flavor and pungent minerality, and we all liked it. But in a way it was like trying to focus in on the sound of the 3rd violinist in a symphony. Possible, but not easy.

Love this wine in 2008. I sense it will age into something really lovely. Just having a really hard time keeping my hands off these. Caveat taster: loads of crunchy, electric acidity; unless you're an acid freak, have with food.

Has lot of freshness that will insure a long ageing potential. In this phase is a little too much limon-acid influences, the nose is, on the contrary, more approciable and round. Rather light, need a bit more of weight and time.

White Burgundy/Tuscan Lunch: Unusual, and the cepage certainly stands out at this stage. Apples and pears on nose and palate, but really brutally young and direct at the moment. Wait a few years for the next bottle, but I'm optimistic and it certainly has terrific ageing potential.

Old pinot meunier vines. Very fresh, a hint of oak, light yeast, gentle fruit. On the palate, this is very vibrant with high acidity (no malo), fine bubbles. Overall a very nice champagne but for the price I would have expected more complexity and depth. But it's a perfect way to wake your palate up as long as you love high acidity, and I do !

Teriffic - '08 power, some secondary flavors, very saline, round and focused - backed by a citric acidity. Really lovely!

Didn’t save my notes but from memory this was stunning and highly recommended. Of course made in the clear grower style but so much going on here.

1974 Dinner: Slightly more conventional and all better integrated than a year ago. Lovely, rich, vinous, champagne with lots of development left.

Terres et Vins de Champagne 'a Portland; 5/17/2013-5/18/2013 (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Soft and creamy aroma. Really luscious, creamy body. Light and lean in flavor. Luscious and creamy finish that lingers nicely on the senses. Very nice.
