Brighter red fruit notes quickly air out to red /black raspberry, black cherry darker tones with a lingering balanced finish. This wine is drinking nicely. Very smooth but not sweet or syrupy. Went great with spiral ham dinner.

CA vs. France Tasting: big, rich, almost chewy, but yet retains a nice subtle minerality and spicy complexity that is not overbearing. Really enjoyed this classy CA PN despite it's girth.

Classic nose of cherries, strawberries, cinnamon bark, lots of exotic spices, and a hint of toast. The palate is long, balanced, and structured, with shades of Old and New World styles, eventually revealing the deeper, earthier side of Pinot. It shows great depth of flavor and ample fruit density but without the sappy sweetness you get in New World examples. This is excellent.

The "Generous Pour" Promotion at the Capital Grille (Capitalle Grille, Mpls, MN): Medium red color. PNP, drank a small pour. Ripe nose with herbs, black cherry, spice. The palate is fairly full bodied, somewhat green, herbal, black cherry fruit, spices, oak. This was young and not decanted. There was heat at times and the oak was a bit much. I think this will settle down a little with some time.

My wife and I got this with dinner at Eddie V's in Ft Worth. Took a little time to open up but was very nice with our dinner. Cherry and flowers on the nose. Lots of big red fruit and some spice on the palate with smooth tannins.
