PnP and drank over 3.5 hours. Semi-opaque ruby/black. Medium body. Substantial nose of red fruit and spice. Opened up after 30 minutes — and continued. Finish got longer as I drank it; now 2+ minutes. The red and dark fruits traded the lead for the whole time. Spice was a constant backbone. Some wines are tasty. Some wines are interesting. This one is both.

Bold but smooth; very harmonious flavors. Stewed blackberry, plum and figs. Baking spices, nutmeg in particular, along with some black pepper and cedar. A gorgeous lengthy finish where the fruit takes on a brambly hue and fruit liquior qualities.

90+. The wine has a gorgeous nose and a nice taste of blackberry, green pepper and some black pepper notes. It was especially good with our lamb shawarma from Mamoun's, which was a great pairing. Nevertheless, I think this wine will be so much better with some more bottle age: perhaps 2 years. I will mark my remaining bottles 3 for 2018. We paid $20 on close-out (good QPR) but I don't think it is yet a great $50 retail bottle.

Wow, now we remembered why we bought this at the winery. Gorgeous nose. So very smooth, sexy mouth feel, rich dark fruit, green pepper, loamy, a bit of pencil lead and black pepper. Velvety finish with mild tannins. Very approachable now, but continue to please for several more years.

Traditional style, off dry and medium-full bodied, smooth, with medium round tannins, powerful flavor of pepper, vanilla and dark fruit with a long finish

Needed a couple hours to open up. Definitely save bottles for 2014 and beyond. The character of the winemaker is there in this mostly Syrah, but needs more time in the bottle.

Really enjoyed this. Decanted for 90 minutes. Pepper, nice fruit in the mouth, round tannins. Will age well.
