Exotic nose brimming with Asian spices and super ripe black and red fruits, garlands of garden herbs such as rosemary and lavender. The palate is medium-full bodied with good acidity and rugged tannins that needed the fat and protein of Chinese food to tame them. This was incredible with the Four Seasons but takes a step down on its own. Gushing with sweet, ultra-ripe fruit, but doesn't seem over-ripe at all. Drink now-2025 92

Mature and a bit porty, whether due to the richness of the Grenache coming through, or the alcohol content, or both. Still an excellent glass of wine, preferably with rich beefy food to show its best.

In an excellent place now. First notes of leather and tar blew off, followed by a rich, long finish, bramble berries with hints of a strong tannic grip and a slightly flinty finish. Very nice.

Consistently good CDP. 2011 is rich but with finesse and integration of flavors for velvety smooth on the mouth. Dark berries with some licorice, smoky chocolate. Satisfying.

More tamed and better integrated than it was five years ago. Developing complexity, showing medium plus aromas and flavors of crushed black raspberry and blueberries, licorice, garrigue, briary sagebrush, and herbal tea. Fruits and spice dominate but the secondary and tertiary notes are evolving. Structured with a strong finish. Hasn’t reached peak and should cellar for another 4-5 years. Very good, smooth, and enjoyable with food.

Paired with grilled salmon - flavor profile on nose & palate was reminiscent of a Loring (Paso or Sonoma) Pinot in a warm vintage - don't get me wrong - I really enjoyed this wine. Cherry, sweet cherry, black raspberry, garrigue, whiff of alcohol on nose. On palate, full body, medium acidity, light tannins and long finish - flavor profile consistent with nose but alcohol was balanced on palate. 92+
I should buy more from this producer. Their Cote Du Rhone's are usually very good as well.

70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre. Bright crimson. Clean, fresh nose. Plum juice and tart cherries. 2011 is a warm vintage, sweetness on the palate, high alcohol, medium plus acidity, medium body, medium finish, high tannin. Jancis said there is something confident about this chateauneuf. Refreshing!
Tasted at the domaine.

2 bottles off restaurant wine list. The expected nice match with Chinese food. Dark garnet, great balance on the fine textured palate where fairly sweet dark fruit is matched with good acidity. Alcohol does not show. Medium + finish. Excellent

A bunch of Rhone 2011: Perhaps the best terroir of the bunch clearly janasse style with beautiful texture, balance and length, would suggest holding on to this for another 2 or 3 years before opening the bulk of these bottles.

Decanted for about 30 minutes. Still very young. Pure. Wonderful aromas of smokey crushed blue and red berries, garrigue, spices, licorice, and earthy herbs, with some faint toasty oak in the background. Lots of concentration and solid acidity which should help this develop over the next 5-8 years. Solid, long and persistent finish. My last experience with this producer was the 2008 CdP which I also remember being excellent. I like it a lot.

Very big & bold. Tons of black & purple fruit. So fruit forward that the secondary notes barely creep in. I love fruit bombs & this is s fruit bomb. Great finish with nicely balanced acidity & structure. Great.

Opened, but did not decant for 2 hours before serving with grilled amberjack. Raspberry / cherry / glycerin on the nose. On palate, high acidity / medium / body / very long finish - flavor profile similar to the nose - Went surprisingly well with the fish - very food friendly wine and a pleasure to drink. 92-93 range.

Medium purple. Discrete nose of licorice and cherry, opening up after some aeration. On the palate medium bodied with good acidity, tannins and fruit. This is quite pleasant but not very complex.

at the domaine. Good as always, but I find myself liking the cheaper les garrigues blend better, more balanced and typical. This has more concentration and texture, perhaps longer lived.

Fresh purple colour, this is really young CdP!! Just like the 2010, this one is a powerbomb on the palate. Intense fruity notes and a long lasting punch in your face. It lacks a little bit of the power and balance of the 2010, but still a very good and enjoyable CdP. Drinkable right now, but would get better in 5-8 years. Uncertain about longer storage than that. It could be risky.

Rich, a wee bit burning alcohol, lots of local spice, a manly wine - and a food wine, quite typical for the vintage. #RH-A

A full bodied, well balanced Chateauneuf de Pape. Plenty of bramble fruit overlayed with spice. Went well with a BBQ.

No formal notes. Consistent with my note from 4/2014 - paired great with grilled salmon (salt / pepper / Italian seasoning / brown sugar rub).

Purchased during visit to Chateauneuf-du-Pape in April 2014. Simple complexity with hints of berry. Good for next 10 years (2014-2024).
