Bought on Release...Stunning... Purple to Crimson Rim...coffee bean, blackberries, graphite, dark chocolate...looks like a 2003 More earth as it opens tannin still peaks through in the background.

opened 24 hrs prior to tasting. Not unpleasant - still had some life; although fruit had definitely faded to nothing more than a background note. Initial surge of earth, moss and muted mushroom... went nicely with the prime rib. Leather and lace finish.

Sharper, more delineated than the '89 Grand Mayne, and almost as good. A different style, though, easier to appreciate. Youthful, but may lose it's appeal as it ages.

Interestingly, the first thing to note is that I entered the vintage incorrectly when I did my initial inventory and this is actually a 1992 Fisher Cab. Sorry for the confusion. Deep garnet color without much browning on the edges. This is a big, earthy wine without over powering fruit. Noticeable breadth, balance and fullness. Notes of plum, cedar and sweet tobacco. Just enough tannin to provide structure from start to finish. A long deep finish. A pleasure to drink. I wish I had 12 more bottles. Bravo and a salute to age worthy California wines.

Chunky sediment, better than the 1992, lots of life left.

Best in the tasting. Luscious, rich, dark fruit, very long finish, decadent. A beautiful, fully mature, ripe bottle.

OTH; pleasant with some earth/leather, but faded fruit

Reasonable balance, aged well and elegantly, although the fruit is wearing thin.

Past prime, but still strong tannin/acid balance, faded fruit but not yet developing complexity.
