Drank beautifully with our steakhouse meal: ribeye, pommes frites, salad, cheese. Decanted for 20 minutes, then a gorgeous bouquet and lovely, complex mid-palate culminating in a long but slightly tannic finish. There are wonderful secondary flavors here, though the wine still seems fresh enough. The finish became a bit muddy and tannic after two hours, all leading me to think that this is a prime time to consume this wine.

Garnet/purple core, some thinning. Nose was showing dark cherry, cassis, cocoa. Smooth palate, consistent with last bottle. Blackberry, raspberry, cassis, oak, mineral notes. Great texture, tannins resolved. Medium/full body, medium finish.
Beautifully aged at this point. Although this was ready out of the bottle, it continued to evolve in the glass over the time we drank it. In a great spot, should continue to age well but why wait...:) I dont think it improves much from here

Balanced, mellow and residual acid for structure. This finely crafted wine has held its own after 15 years and would likely be drinking well for several more years.

This wine is drinking well now. The fruit and the tannins have moderated already but the blackberry, plum and tobacco are still quite vibrant in addition to something a little "woodsy." If this bottle is representative the wine might be best in the next couple of years as opposed to at 20 or 25 years old but every bottle is it's own adventure depending on the cork and storage, obviously.

This is for years later since my last note. At that time I felt it had a 5 to 10 more years. Today was pop and decant for two hours. A lovely bouquet still present with chocolate, olive tampenade, cassis, licorice and plum sauce. Seems to have lost some of its fruit, but it still has well integrated tannins, smooth silky texture, mild acidity and no heat. May need to drink up soon in my opinion, but cork was dry on opening this bottle and may have premature oxidation

Popped and poured, this was a silky smooth, well-integrated bottle with loads of black fruit and a touch of toasty toffee to balance the silky tannins. Next time, 2 hours of air just to let alcohol blow off and volume to tone down.

We decanted this wine for about an hour prior to pouring. Wonder essence of coffee, ripe figs, chocolate and toast. Very soft tannins that allowed layers of coffee, licorice, toast, black cherries, pepper corns and mint. Such an enjoyable wine and I'm sad this is our last bottle of the 2007 vintage.

At Bonheur in HK. Alone. P&P. Job hunting trip, self flatulation.
Dark black purple. Blueberry cassis cream pie nose. God that’s lovely. Ting of smoke.
So delicate on the palate. Delicious feminine fruit, smoky, some oak although integrated, balanced. Tannins r fine, on first sips. Yummmmmmmmy.
This is already getting some secondary flavors, wow. This will be great w dinner. Buy it drink it. Lovely.
Couple hours in. Nose more muted. Less fruity. More secondary note/flavors. Finish is still bright, some tannins. Balanced. Not tons of structure. So seems it can go longer and develop. Lovely drop.

We decanted this bottle for two hours and enjoyed it on a cool fall Saturday watching football. Wonderful nose consisting of bell peppers, toast, mint and chocolate. Terrifically balanced tannins and acidity opening up to layers of chocolate, black licorice, mint, toast and dry figs. This wine has a long finish and nice mouthfeel. This wine has aged very well. I would recommend a long decant before enjoying future bottles.

Probably the best showing in my recent memory of a FN Cabernet. I really Like this 07. It is drinking perfectly and has a lingering Churchill cigar tobacco flavor. Big velvety and balanced.
Had at CBCC alongside a 13 Duck-horn cab, a 2014 Bello Cabernet, and a 08 Tenimenti Angelini Brunello.

With Jim and Subha in the cellar, a farewell party...Jim brought this one, nice to follow up the Ridge Monte Bello and Lynch Bages. Splash decanted and drank over an hour.
From prior notes: "Dense, inky purple color. Dark fruits, cassis, spice and pine needles on the nose. Palate of blackberry, tart fruits, cassis and anise. Smooth and rich mouthfeel."
This bottle was ready right out of the chute, evolved in the glass a bit over the hour we drank it. Picked up red currants, mocha, floral/violet and some baking spice with this bottle. Medium weight and finish (by Napa standards..). In a good spot right now, should drink well for the next 5+ years

PnP Drunk over 2 hours, and this wine dramatically improved with more exposure to air. I would suggest 1-2hr decant. Lots of sediment! Big Dark fruit on the nose, although a bit tart on the palate. This is a good wine, but not sure I would call it a QPR effort.

After 10 years, there is still a lot of primary fruit still present. It is starting to mingle with some of the secondary flavors but just. Very good now, but if you like older cabernet, it still has some years left. If you still want all of that primary fruit that Napa is known for, drink up.

With Ted D in OCNJ, last bottle of the evening.Drank this after an Amon Ra Shiraz...not the ideal sequence but in a pinch we made do... "improvised" a splash decant and drank over an hour.
From prior notes: "Dense, inky purple color. Dark fruits, cassis, spice and pine needles on the nose. Palate of blackberry, tart fruits, cassis and anise. Smooth and rich mouthfeel." Picked up more spice and earth notes with this bottle. Still drinking very young, this seems to have a long life ahead of it and will likely develop more secondary characteristics if wanting to cellar.
Did not heed my own advice, this is a very different wine after being open for an hour. Should have decanted properly - an hour+...
Its dense purple color is accompanied by fragrant aromatics of creme de cassis, spice box, underbrush, and forest floor. Voluptuously-textured and full-bodied with superb purity and depth as well as a layered, complete finish, this terrific wine should be drinkable before the 2006, but age just as lon

Thought this was overrated based on the price. Solid bottle of wine, but not as good as vintages a decade earlier and certainly not worth what you pay for it any longer. Dark red fruit. Full bodied and still fairly tannic. Needs a decant and food, but very enjoyable now. A bit smoother the second night, but no drastic changes.

Again and again I feel this wine is overpriced and just not worth the 130+ it costs. This is a textbook $70 dollar Napa cab, very good yes, but nothing more. Beware, this people are taking advantage of nice label and name, but the wine is not worth more tan $80 usd by no means.

At home w/pizza, John/Amy in town. Decided to spark up a basic dinner. Splash decanted first bottle and drank over 30 minutes, second bottle last a couple hours
Dense, inky purple color. Dark fruits, cassis, spice and pine needles on the nose. Palate of blackberry, tart fruits, cassis and anise. Smooth and rich mouthfeel.
Still drinking young, has mellowed from a few years ago but still a big juicy CA Cab...ripe vintage, Oakville fruit, great estate...all adds up but it is not for every palate. Should continue to imprrove as it settles.
The decant/air time makes a big difference in getting the nuance - best to give it at least an hour preferably more..

Dark fruit on the nose (blackberry/boysenberry/cherry) with licorice and lightly toasted oak. Multi-dimensional on the palate with layers of ripe dark and cassis supported by medium acidity, very refined with a long finish. Great California cab and more balanced compared to a few recent fruit bombs. Tasted side by side with 2008 and this was my favorite (by a little). Improved over the course of 2 hours.

Enjoyed at Chops in ATL. Had high hopes for this wine and did not disappoint. Somewhat closed off and tight initially (expected that) After 90 minutes showed wonderful ripe blackberry, plums, and hints of espresso. Very impressed with the balance this vintage has. Moderate tannins & favorable acidity. Looking for a few more to lay down.

After a hour of decanting, I realized that is power house needed additional 1-2 hours of decanting. Since I brought it to a restaurant, it wasn't really possible. As I finished my dinner, it was just starting to open up. I then was getting the fruit that this wine had.

This was excellent. Woodsy.........with smokey oak, camphor, pine needles and forest floor on the nose. Aromas carry through on the palate with deep blackberry, licorice, junipers and black currant adding to the rich multi-layered textured mouthfeel. Finishes clean and dusty. Served alongside a 2005 Kathryn Hall and crushed it. Drink now through 2020.

Really hitting a good place. Have two more bottles and hope it holds where it is for a while. No bricking, deep dark purple. Nose of blackberries and stewed plums. Definite smoke on the nose. Mouth feel was rich but not overly thick. Decent finish of 45 seconds or so. Great Napa character in this wine.

Excellent complex nose of ripe black fruit, chocolate, mild spice, licorice and cedar. Palate follows nose, however mid palate less in balance, but still overall well integrated. Pairs with lamb or beef. 2007 was a great year. Slightly more delicate than your regular Napa Cab. 93

Not at all fruit foreward, a Little bit on the feminine side. I had chocolate, cocoa, some hazelnut ( yeah, never had it before! ). Extremely dry. I think that it is a good wine with bad QPR. If this wine was $50.$70 I think it would be in a good spot. I like more the style of the Caymus SS for this price. The wine has 10 years left and maybe, just maybe, in 3-5 years the wine will hit its prime. I was simply not excited at all.....good wine and that´s it!

My second bottle and much better than the one about a year ago. This is much more the style of wines like Silver Oak than the fruit-forward California Cabs like Caymus, Cade Howell Mountain, Axios, and others. A more subtle, feminine style. Very smooth and well-balanced. Not really my style but, as my girlfriend described it, "easy-drinking."

I like it. I like it quite a lot. The only problem is I'm not really sure why...
The youth is obvious and there are a few rough edges to integrate, but the fruit is clean, the oak not too OTT and the balance just about where you would hope. I would go as far as calling the long and complex finish exceptional. It does seem to be taking itself a little too seriously however. The overall impact is a rather stiff and monolithic mouthful that paints with a limited colour palate. Give it some time and I would hope this will become a little more extrovert. Right now it's somewhere between Bergman's vision of death and Sam the Bald Eagle from the Muppets.
Better after 2014 maybe?
Served from 75cl in restaurant

consistent with my bottle of 6 months ago, and sadly it was not properly aerated; the same as last time. This is an excellent young Napa Cab, with very fine structure and balance, however, it's in need of 5-10 years of bottle rest. Very tight nose and palate, but obvious purity of fruit. This has a very solid future, but if opening any time soon, a 5+ hour aeration in decanter is recommended. 14,5% abv, drink thru 2025

This has remarkable structure and balance with notes of delicious black cherries, sweet cassis and dark currant fruit as well as spice and well integrated toasted oak. Full-bodied, polished and focused ending long and juicy. This is outstanding right now, but if you can wait another 5-7 years the payoff will be very generous!

consistent tn's. PnP consumed during one hour. Average on all accounts. In fairness, this should have been decanted 3 hours, minimum, especially at this stage of development. The fruit was there, but it didn't join the party. Promising though, is the conspicuous absence of too much oak. Fine-grained tannins, nice weight and fresh acids should see this drinking well in just a few years, again, with proper aeration for best enjoyment. Drink thru 2020, 14,5% abv, score: B+ (upside noted)

PnP served/followed over 3 nights. The best showing was on day 2, where the structure and purity were significantly more pronounced; fell apart on day 3 with significant VA. Medium complexity, medium finish. Unmemorable at this stage in its development. I can say I'm glad I wasn't the one that plopped down the money for this wine; a lot of great/better values out there for less than this costs. Drink thru 2022, 14,5% abv, score: B+/A-

Considerably better and more rounded than the '06, it still has too much red fruit for me to believe this is THE California cabernet. Full bodied but restrained, it was quite good, but lacked that Cali Cab punch in so many high end cabernets.

Nose - abit tannic. Hides the fruit. Some fruit is definitely there. Just needs time in the bottle. Palette - Nice fruit. More than tannic; there is definite bitterness and astringency here. But still pleasant fruit. So, there is sufficient tannin and fruit for aging. But I wonder whether the acidity and astingency will mellow or persevere. Score - 91 or 92 at most. Over priced at $150. I would rather have a Spottswoode.

If this wine was $50.$70 I think it would be in a good spot. I like more the style of the Caymus SS for this price.

Nose - abit tannic. Hides the fruit. Some fruit is definitely there. Just needs time in the bottle. Palette - Nice fruit. More than tannic; there is definite bitterness and astringency here. But still pleasant fruit. So, there is sufficient tannin and fruit for aging. But I wonder whether the acidity and astingency will mellow or persevere. Score - 91 or 92 at most. Over priced at $150.
