  • 2011 is arguably one of the best vintages Maxime Cheurlin from Georges Noellat has ever made, pure and seductive bouquet, a massive vintage outperformance. Tasted blind – Intense array of fragrant red cherries, rose petals and mineral driven. Alluring bouquet, medium bodied 1er Cru weight. Attractive stemmy note. 2009? Vosne Romanee Aux Malconsorts? Sylvain Cathiard? (91/100)

  • A truly superb wine and served blind I did not detect this as 2011 as it did not show any green notes that some 11s carry whatsoever. In fact I though this Dujac Beaumont 10 instead. The wine was very balanced, lifted and had a very nice clarity of fruit to it. It did perform very well in this flight of 4 Vosne 1er Crus blind (was voted 1st with the group leaving behind more pricier wines - Cathiard Reignots 09 and C Tremblay Rouges Aux Dessus 11 and Montille Christiane 12). For me it was a tad behind the Cathiard but what a great wine. One to seek out. And drinking well now and for the next 10-15 years.

  • Georges Noellat outperformed in 2011, it is their first vintage with very different winemaking and viticulture. Tasted blind – Sweet red cherry and raspberries. Lifted wood treatment with gorgeous stemmy nose that resembles DRC winemaking. Delicate bouquet with smooth tannins and polished oak. DRC Echezeaux? (not too far from Petits Monts) 2011? (91/100)

  • Tasted blind – Sweet red berries, mild sweet oak spices and toast, possibly one of the most fragrant wines of the flight with mild ethereal note and playful whole cluster scents. Full bodied with good ripeness and density. A truly lovely wine that is knocking on Grand Cru doors. Could it be my Mongeard Mugneret Richebourg 2009? (93/100)

  • Leiden last event in 2018: Very complex wine, black fruit, complex, multiple layers, lovely. Finish bit short.

  • Burghound Symposium Asia - Vosne Romanee 1er Cru Masterclass (Shanghai): Light garnet. Expressive nose, very nice gamy tones, whole cluster, leather, smoke. This is the first wine that I really liked due to its complexity and sophistication.

  • Drunk at a Petits Monts tasting at On Dining Hong Kong 9/1/2015 - I had high hopes for this wine after drinking the 2012 a few weeks previously but this sadly did not live up to those expectations. I see comments below describe the wine as new-world like and I would agree there was definitely a Kiwi Pinot, jammy character about it; and, whilst there's nothing wrong with that, its not what I expected from Burgundy.

  • Full throttle on the nose. Cherry, spice and very aromatic. Almost borderline liqueur. A ton of sweetness both in the bouquet and on the palate. Is it good? Yes very tasty but also a little bit new world.

  • This is elegant, ethereal, classic Vosne-Romanée, with cherry and spice notes framed by just a touch of tannic structure. It possesses that rare combination of seemingly being weightless while also being jammed full of pretty aromatics and flavours.
