Big black fruit on the palate and baking spice with a little vanilla on the nose makes this wine really intriguing. Still great acidity, allowing this wine to outlast a ton of other 2010's that turned flabby after their 10th birthday. Last of my original purchase from the winery upon release.

1 hour decant- big fruit forward wine that is overall enjoyable but a bit disjointed still. Finish is nice and the price point is about right. Overall- paired well with Italian food and is in prime. Will hold for another 5 plus years. This wine needs food.

This is a fairly classic high quality Napa Cab. Dark fruit (but not jammy) with some cedar and alluvial notes on the back end. Nice balanced tannins with a moderate finish. Nothing unique, just a great Napa offering that begs to accompanied with a hearty meal.
Day two reveals a similar profile with less cedar although the alluvial, soil notes are a bit more prominent.

better than my last bottle - rich and smooth with black currant and blackberry as well as rich chocolate notes. My kind of cab at a decent Napa price ($70 ish)

Had with Miller and Bruce a few weeks ago. Decanted for about a couple hours. From memory this was a young but very drinkable cab with incredible depth of fruit, well balanced and very bold... Not bashful in the slightest. Enjoyed it immensely

Amazing. Needs a two hour decant at this age. Probably had some room to run but no need to wait any longer. Chewy and full mouthfeel. Dark fruit and very smooth palate with nuance and balance. It has a long finish and is not a glass you’ll want to put down.

PHMG WAG: Cabs of Hall (The Lyon Hall): Nice start to the tasting with ripe blackberry, cassis, black plum, a little loam and oak. Soft and lush, the structure is subtle / integrated. Fell off on day 2, 88pts. Now-2020.

What a treat. Amazingly complete nose with aromas of plum, currant, spice and mocha. Super juicy on the palate. Concentration and viscosity support a long finish ... yum!

In a bit of an awkward spot I think. Still has great structure and potential. Most of the primary fruit has faded away leaving notes of plum and dried cherry. Still needs some time to develop all of the secondary flavors. I would wait at least 6 months before opening another.

Deep garnet color, cigar box and saddle leather on the nose. Substantial blackberry and spiced plum flavors. Full-bodied and complex with mild tannins and a thoroughbred finish. 94 points.

Last bottle but been a few years since we last had one. And all I can really say is that this thing is still a baby and has years to go. Jeez - the tannins are just holding on! Nice fruit but still drowned out by the tannins on the finish.

One of my favorite wines from Hall. Not quite as rich as Diamond Mtn or Segasia, but plenty of flavor to go 'round. Smooth, seductive, with no edges; but plenty of tannin backbone to give the fruit something to hold on to.

Mocha, Blackberry, touch of Tobacco... still young but terrific after one hour decant. Long finish Big but still elegant after one hour. With grilled ribeye and gorgonzola. Try again in 2 years.

Feels a little young, this is a rich and full bodied wine. Red berry and mocha are the primary flavors I get. Good grip with medium tannins and herb on the finish.

Super rich and extracted flavors of crushed blueberries, blackberries mixed with dark chocolate, loamy earth, and pen ink all work well together and continue to evolve throughout the 3 hours we had it. The wine is more complex than I convey here, but you get the point.

Napa Valley Wine and Food Excursion 2013; 9/30/2013-10/5/2013 (Napa Valley, California): A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, this deep ruby wine offers nice aromas of chocolate, black currants, loamy earth and pickling spice. Medium-bodied, round and softly tannic, it has a very supple texture. The flavors mirror the nose and the alcohol (listed as 15.0%) incorporates nicely. With nice persistence throughout the middle and finish, this is a wine which is really a pleasure to drink. I would favor enjoying it over the next 5-7 years, although it could possibly hold up longer. Drink now-2020.

Hold hold hold. This wine is not ready. Big tannins that overpower the wine, in fact the fruit feels watered down currently. Need it to settle. Big time. I expect the score to go up with years.

Dark and full bodied, big fruit forward wine with layers complex layers of black fruits accented by tones of spicy clove and cassis with nicely integrated supple firm but nicely polished lingering tannins. Awesome Saturday (Paul's house): Young. Sweet supple big inky tannins. Amazingly concentrated. Wow. This wine was sort of a hot mess but is still amazing. Let it settle. Buy buy buy.

Perhaps not a fair evaluation, had as 3rd bottle for the evening. Popped and poured, dark fruit on the nose, some heat in the pallet but very nice fruit, moderate finish. Lasted 10 min and gone. We bought as a nice "daily drinker". This will work.

Young! Decanted one hour and drank over the next three hours. Primary blue and black fruit on the nose. Blue fruits, and some depth on the palate. Give this some time in the cellar, it will be much better.

Purple colored with violet highlights. Thick legs stain the glass. Scents of black currant/cassis, vanilla, cinnamon, violets, and lavender. Some milk chocolate. Fairly restrained. Plummy, vanillan-oaky flavors are a bit monolithic at this stage. Oak in evidence but not overdone. Full body with a fleshy texture. Medium finish with some tannins making their presence felt. Good, but not worth over sixty bucks. 4-11-16-8: 89/100.

young but thought we'd give it a try. Day two much better than day one. I'm sure if we could have held for a day 3 it would be even more so. Needs some time. Has the fruit to push the score up once the heat burns off.

Tannins are soft and mouthfeel matches to make this silky and perfect to have just by itself.
The nose of cinnamon and black fruit are absolutely Alluring from the time you pop the cork.
You could hold it, but there's no reason to wait. This is AS NEAR perfect a wine I've had in a long time.
Amazing!
