We drink a lot of the Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc Viognier. This review covers 72 bottles of the 2012. This is a great patio wine. The blend of Chenin Blanc and Viognier is a great combo... much better than either alone. It has solid fruit and floral notes, with just enough acidity to make it crisp. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
We typically drink this with spicy foods. I opened this at a Siblings gathering for my sister who likes semi sweet wines. She really loved it and gathered all of the info to get more.

Nice citrus with faint peach / rose. Very nice acid balance. Nice, slightly oily mouth feel. I am going to make this my go to wine for grilled salmon and everyday drinking.

This wine's popularity must be the reason its price keeps creeping up. Originally purchased for $10.99, it's now at $11.99 but it's still a great value. Fresh, citrus, honeydew, pineapple, pear, nicely structured, easy to drink with or without food, and unlike some other fruity white wines of its ilk, it doesn't need to be super cold to enjoy.
Nice blend of two varietals. Melon and apricot aroma with some apple/pear notes as well. Off-dry, unless I mistake some excellent fruit for a tiny bit of residual sugar. Some mineral notes as well. Not bad at all for the price.

Crystal Symphony AI wine list - brief impressions (Norway): Floral, honeysuckle, spice, some tropical notes. Off dry, a bit flabby, and somewhat weird. Just okay. Earlier vintage (2011 I believe) was much more interesting and substantially better.

Melon and peach on the nose with floral edge and a touch of grapefruit. In the mouth a touch sweet. Round soft and peach with a bit of acidity to balance. Definitely like it better than the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc as does my wife (a small victory). On par with the Honing Sauvignon Blanc (should actually do a head to head tasting against this wine; I almost think this might win owing to multidimensional taste versus the linearity of the Honing) but not quite on par with the Fevre Chablis or some of the better Chardonnay. Great QPR compared to all of those wines though and at $10 a steal.

A blend of 80% Chenin Blanc, 20% Viognier, this wine, like the first time I tasted it on 12/17/13, was blonde bordering on light straw in color. The nose revealed defined aromas of honeydew, grapefruit and white peach. The mouth feel showed crisp and clean acidity with more white peach and an added floral element. The finish was zippy and the assertive acidity left me longing for more.
At $11.99US, this is a great QPR and a wine I've purchased multiple times now. It hasn't failed to disappoint yet.

A tad thin at first, but comes on stronger mid-palate. Green apple and pear dominate. Finish is smooth and clean. A nicely done blend. Paired with shellfish bisque.

Starbright pale yellow w green highlights, light medium viscosity. Aromas of honeysuckle, melon, melon skin, ginger, summer floral. One the palate: honey, clove, balanced against bracing lime-aid acidity. Would certainly be cloying if not for the bright acid. Surprisingly plush, chewy texture. Great food wine -- perfect for many strong/spiced dishes, eg Szechuan or North Indian cuisine. Excellent Tuesday night quaffer at an attractive qpr. Buy more and drink it up.

It's been some time since I've had this wine - over 10 years would be my guess. Though they seem to be leaving a marked level of RS, it's not so sweet that it detracts from all the good things about the wine. Intoxicatingly floral aromatics and food versatile, with a good level of freshness from the bright acidity.

Aromas of bananas and apricots with some floral notes. Medium to high acidity with some residual effervescence. Citrus and pineapple flavors with a hint if overripe banana on the back end. Good wine at its price point (reflected in rating). Great paired with chicken tikka masala.

Nothing overly complex, just refreshing summer wine. This has been our go-to summer wine for the past two years. We like our wines more on the dry side, but due to the fruit on this wine, it pleases both us and those who enjoy something with a little sugar on the palate. I think it would please the Sauvignon Blanc crowd as well as the white zin crowd.

Okay, I have read through the notes on this wine after seeing this at one of the local's at $10. I like Chenin, especially from Vouvray and the Loire region. I like Viognier from the South of France. So I had a bit of hope, but.... This was off-dry if not a bit over-ripe, with some left over effervescence. The nose was a beautiful nose of white flowers, courtesy of the Viognier and ripe green melon with guava, coming from the Chenin Blanc. In the mouth, it was awkward to say the least. A little sweeter than I like, weird left over carbonation, and of course no oak, which is a good thing. On the palate it showed some promise, but the stone fruit wasn't as present as one would expect. nor was the acidity. The green honeydews and guava were there for sure. everything seemed okay until the swallow, where this brutal flavor of wet banana bread flew threw my nose and mouth and hung in their pretty long. I had my wife a banana lover taste and she agreed. I was just shocked. I've only experienced banana in Beaujolais Nouveau and I don't like it in wine. Ice cream or feral, but not wine. I'm not rating this as those of you that like the ultra affordable twist off that's off-dry and fruity, but I won't drink the remainder of the bottle. Might have a touch of a taste after hours of air, but yuck...my thoughts. Bananas and wine may be some people forte, but not mine, especially for those two whites.

This wine always brings a smile to my face. A summer picnic staple, it is a simple swillable off-dry unoaked white that sells for an amazingly cheap price. That said, tasted head-to-head against a 2011 d'Arenberg "Hermit Crab" Viognier-Marsanne blend this wine lacked the length and minerality that kept me coming back for more of the Aussie white.

Nice goto wine. Not as expressive and cutting as previous years, but still a great QPR. Both varietals bringing their best - Viognier flowers and fruit and Chenin Blanc's typical Loire minerality and acidity. Nice distinctive wine, what's not to like.

What great QPR! And a California white wine without too much alcohol(only 12.0%). More old world/Loire in style(surprise?). Off dry, lots of fruit (peach), light acidity, but held its own with blackened Mahi, and salmon with an orange glaze. A little hint of fizz after the first glass. Will be a go-to when I can find it.

This characterful $10 white is hard to beat with its mix of; lively acidity; citrus, tropical and minerally flavors. A real bargain at $10. Easy on its own or with food both. Who needs rose when you can quaff this at any occassion! Sorry, I'm a white wine guy.

Really like this. Nice summer white. Nose of tropical fruits, pineapple, lemon zest, passion fruit and floral note. Nice texture, medium palate. Pineapple, Kiwi, cut with grapefruit acidity towards the finish. Very nice.

I like the front end of this better than the back, which is a little flabby and in marked contrast to the initial bright acidity (I'm assuming I'm tasting the chenin before the viognier in a layered rather than integrated way), but overall it performs reasonably well for a sub-$10 summer white.

Always an inspired blend, this is an old friend of which we enjoy many bottles per vintage, especially at the pool. I was not as impressed with the 2011, as previous vintages. This 2012, to me, is back on track toward scoring in the high 80's. Has a very distinctive golden yellow color. Peaches, pineapple, white flowers and citrus on the nose. The entry to the palate is also quite distinct with a relatively high viscosity that is still crisp and elegant. Lots of pineapple and peach up front fruit, well balanced by some crisp citrus with spice. Lively and vibrant finish showing flavors all the from crisp citrus to ripe melon.

Limpid straw. Floral flavors of pears, citrus blossom, stonefruit, melon, and jasmine flower. Bright, clean, crisp, a touch of effervescence, and a sweet, mineral finish. Not as lively as the 2011 but it still delivers.

REFERMENTED! First time I have had this happen. But upon first sip I noticed an effervescence, or fizziness, on the tongue. You could actually see very small bubbles and hear them. Left bottle open a couple of hours, re-sealed and then revisited day 2. Day 2 was back to normal. A little on the sweet side for my tastes. But a very nice crispness about this wine that would make it nice on a hot day.

A light, fizzy citrus and stone fruit summer pleaser with residual sweetness. Consumed rapidly by the white wine winos in attendance.

Very nice. The effervescence and peach notes give this a little peach Bellini feel. For the money- very good.

well made, with chenin blanc characteristics to the fore. Hence, a tad sweet.

Peachy and sightly effervescent, I thought this wine was pretty amazing for $13.

They hit it out of the park with this wine. It is crisp, light, fruity, and inexpensive, which is just what I am looking for in a Summer white.

Crisp, pear on front and peach on the back. A bit fruity for my taste but a great summer wine, recommended in the Albany Times Union this week.

little aroma and almost clear, a little peach, citrus and a bit of an astringent finish; a bit watery? Megan liked less than Brett.

Like a drunken tourist on a nude beach, this wine is both flabby and flamboyant.
Ripe peach flesh and overly chemically fruit flavors.

I have liked this wine in earlier vintages. The 2012 kind of turns me off, lots of grapefruit, too much acidity, and a rather unpleasant finish.
