Medium red in the glass with generous earthy tones on the nose. Well-structured red fruit and supple tannins. A nice showing for this particular bottle, and seems to be in an open drinking window.

Aromatics leapt from the glass - classic nebbiolo dried cherries, potpourri plus a little wet pavement. Tasty if just a bit short. Perfectly ready to go, can't imagine this has further development, but probably at a happy plateau for the next several years.

Coravined, and glad I did rather than pull the cork. Wonderfully complex nose, but there is still a wall of tannin that I believe will subside with time. I think there is easily another decade to go in this bottle, though it is showing tasty secondary and tertiary notes of dead leaves/underbrush, dried flowers, potpourri etc. I might check in on it in a few years. Perhaps it just needed a long decant which I didn't give it.

Performances from the Summer of 2016: Eh, very impressed that it was still a tannic monster and had Barolo flavor and aromatic characteristics. Nevertheless, it just didn’t appeal – too much tar and not enough cherry. More time?

UWS (@ JB): Beautiful bouquet with earth and autumn impressions. On the palate beautiful fruits, some chocolate, a beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness and overall a delicious wine in its young maturity stage. Will be a pleasure between now and 2020+.

The nose opens to burnt blueberry, campfire, and candy corn. The gentle tannic structure is fine-woven and firm. And while there is plenty of appealing rose petals, spice, fennel, and white pepper, after a few glasses the classic tobacco here can seem as yawningly serious as a 14-year-old boy.

After 3 hours decanting it showed intense autumn leaves and plums. The taste complex, full, with smooth yet very powerful tannins and fresh acids. A wonderful classic traditional style Barolo that is definitely is ready to drink now.

Tasting of the Utrecht Wine Society (Utrecht, NL): Sweet fruit, firm tannins, hint of tar, slender, classic style, distinctive profile. Good wine, at peak.

Good fruit, nice stuffing, a bit modern in style, balanced, but still very young... needs a few more years...

Traditional Barolo (licorice, plums, tobacco,...). Well-made, very good potential; but way too young! Retry this 5/10 years from now.
