3/6, vg cork. Decnated 1/2 hr. Medium/deep garnet, pale garnet rim. Classic nose of sour red cherry, spice. Fresh. Medium, bodied, sour red cherry to the fore again, spice, quite linear with fine tannins, vibrant acidity and a tangy good length finish. Very good indeed, drinking well, should be good for another 5 years,

A lovely and soft wine that demonstrates the finesse of Italian wines, in general. Ripe currants, almost fruity even after 10 years. And the wine doesn’t even need to travel the full length of your pallet before revealing it’s full character. It wants to be appreciatively sipped.

Firm and structured. I can relate to one of the previous comments about the iron fist in a velvet glove analogy but I get both the backbone of the fist and the fruit under neath Feel like this was opened a bit too early but will re-cork and try tomorrow

Wow, apparently I drank my other bottle too soon (see my note of January 2018). This bottle was really singing now. Really intense sangiovese flavors but no heaviness, and a slight sweet touch to top it off. Great wine and at peak imo. With this kind of performance, this is a real QPR winner for me. Sadly, my last bottle

Indeed a typical vino nobile. Moderate garnet color, the typical red fruits and earthy touches, some mushrooms. Structure and acidity. Expected just a bit more however, given the producer and the vintage. It felt like an iron fist in a velvet glove, but the glove was just a little bit too thin. So it came over as a little hard, preventing it to get a 90 score (this might seem severe to some). I hope some time will fix this.

1/6. Medium/deep garnet, pale garnet rim. Spicy, fragrant red cherry nose, attractive pure fruit, touch of earth. Medium bodied, spicy, sour red cherry, lovely vibrant acidity, touch of earth, attractive slightly grippy tannins, good length lightly savoury finish. Excellent, drinking well, no hurry.

Typical well-produced Vino Nobile. Gentle and elegant plum fragrance. This bottle had been stored for 2 years in my cellar, and the etiquette was damaged that suggests the cellar condition was not perfect. But fortunately cork was not damaged and neither bouchonne nor brett was observed. Food paring was limited. Not only strong smelled or spicy meal but also tomato-based meal spoiled the fragrance. Next day, half-remaining wine still kept good quality.
Boscarelli vino nobile 2010. 89-90

Good clarity with dark crimson core and reddish rim; light subtle cherry, perfumed, cedar, tar, roses, leaner initially; good ripeness, cherry, strawberry, cedar, red licorice, medicinal, orange, mid-tier nobility, nice cherry on the finish; sexy, really fooled me for a solid young Langhe Nebbiolo but with more air this improved and showed more like Sangio.

The nose was floral, strong yet graceful, with a bouquet of ripe cherry, strawberry, potpourri and a sweet Tuscan dustiness. It entered the palate focused with wonderful verve as fresh red fruits were ushered in by juicy acidity. Notes of cinnamon spice, cedar and hints of mountain herbs formed toward the close and lasted into the finish. As it’s flavors tapered off, fine tannin remained behind, tugging at the senses. This was enjoyable now, with energy to spare, and should improve or years to come.

Red fruited with raspberry and bright cherry, some soil and undergrowth as well as cedar wood. Very grippy acidity on the palate. Long aftertaste. Impressive for a basic nobile, but needs time or atleast some food to balance the acidity.

Offered blind te me : the Sangiovese was obvious, the sweet touch made me look into Montepulciano. Very pure expression with a nice accidity.

Drinking very nice at the moment (especially with food). Good structure, mature fruit.

Trenger luft. Kraftig med bringebær, kirsebær og litt skog. Lang. Tanninsk. Dette blir bra om et par år.

Sydney Italian Wine Festival - Tuscan Red Masterclass: Charred cherry aromas but not very expressive nose. The fruit is better on the palate, with some richness, though it is hard on the finish.

Clean and fresh fruit on the nose. Follows up on the taste. Quite straight forward. Like the fruit and the structure.

Empson Tasting (Bin 75): Darker in color than the Brunellos; more rustic, grainy, cedar, youthful, darker cherry; very solid and should age well.
