This is an interesting wine. From a tasting that we attended with the wine-maker, this wine was made in stainless steel, and with the goal of preventing any malo-lactic acid fermentation prior to and after bottling. So, it has some tropical fruit flavors that hit the middle of the tongue and then there is a strong bitter, lime-zest like acidity that stimulates the rest of the mouth. When we first tasted this wine my sense was that it would need time to become better integrated. I think that it still needs another 5 years.

Light yellow color with clarity; focused, tart lemon, ripe lemon, saline nose; tasty, Chablis-like with more body, tart lemon, lightly briney, minerally palate; medium-plus finish (14% alcohol) 92+ points

(Tasted at the winery) Honeyed and lush. Some heat in the bouquet but not on the palate. Crisp acidity. Takes on an ocean-breeze freshness as it warms in the glass, bringing back memories of summer weekends at Asbury Park. A pure expression of beautiful Santa Rita fruit without the distraction of oak. Delicious.

A disappointment. Drank with 2 Premier Cru Chablis and it did not stand up. Probably a mistake. It may need to be drank by itself. Not enough acid. I have had this wine in other vintages and loved it.

Interesting since not that oily and buttery compared to some other CA chardonnay. Still, tropical, with a lot of spices and long finish.

Had with scallops. Nice and easy to drink. Balanced. Just not as complex as I remembered

Had tonight at Acacia Restaurant. We all thought it went well with the seafood. Nice clean style.
