  • This was ok. Still too much oaky/vanilla that dominates the nose for my taste. I still think it seems to have the concentration to absorb it so I will let these rest a while longer. Other than the vanilla note it has good balance on the palate and a nice finish.

  • This wine is developing nicely. The nose now has lovely red and black fruits, hints of wood spice, a bit of earth and cigar box. The palate is much more balanced now with the fruit and oak in harmony. The oak really is not noticeable now other than subtle and pleasant spice. Still on the way up and I think another 5-10 years will allow this to develop some interesting secondary notes.

  • This wine came by way of recommendation and for the price, I expected more. This will probably go well with red meat. A medium bodied, elegant cab with good structure. At the high $60-$80 price point, it's good, but not exciting and overpriced for me. 88-89 points

  • The tannins are very well intregrated at this point, but vanilla dominates the palette and obscures the underlying blackberrry and cassis. This bottle needs time to have a chance, as the oak needs time more than the tannin to integrate.

  • This bottle was a little disappointing compared to the prior. The nose is big and explosive with cassis and vanilla dominating. The vanilla is a little too noticeable and obscures some of the other notes. The palate shows well integrated tannins, noticeable oak, and lots of dark fruit. The finish is pretty good. I still think this will turn into very good Napa cab, but this bottle had too much oak for my notice. I suspect in 5-6 years the oak will be integrated and this will be much better.

  • Had to try one after bringing a case home from the winery. Dark purple with a fantastic bouquet of cassis, black currant, plum, vanilla, perfumed floral notes, and some other spices. The palate is rich, but balanced and elegant for a Napa cabernet. The tannins are present and provide structure, but are sweet and integrated well. There is enough acidity to keep the wine from feeling flabby. It is a touch hot on the back end, but not much. Overall this is very good. Drinking well young as this was only decanted for about 15 minutes prior to drinking, but should definitely improve with age.

  • Full ruby color. Nose: blackcurrant, plum, and mulberry with accents of violets, roasted grain, pipe smoke, mocha, vanilla, and licorice root. Medium/full body on the palate: blackcurrant, plum, and mulberry framed by mocha, licorice root, tobacco, vanilla, and violets. Medium acidity. Moderate fine-grain tannins. Lingering berry skin, licorice root, mocha, and tobacco on the long finish. Extraordinary combination of complex aromatics and intense, clean flavors. Rich and beautiful. Drink over the next 7-10 years.
