Herb-frischer Nachhall. Gute Länge. Wer eher spröde Charaktere mag, ist hier ordentlich aufgehoben. Kann sich noch etwas mildern. 89+

Some St. Estephe firmness (made by the same team as Montrose). Deep crimson, black fruit (especially currants). Years ago, I gave this wine 91+, and today I gave it 92.

Not a great vintage but drinking well right now and delivering som classic Bordeaux characteristics. A good dose of barnyard coupled with dark fruit, earthy notes, tobacco and with a slight touch of oak still left. The tannins - though definitely present - are subtle and nicely integrated. Definitely in a good spot now and does not require any extensive cellaring to develop further. This is good value for money.

Medium bodied, pencil shavings, smoke, blackberry. A little barnyard on opening, lean in the mid-palate and finish. Did not devolve nor did it evolve over a 2 hour period. Nice wine.

Out of bottle with mint, pepper, smoke, roasted meat and sweet red berries. Texturally smooth with good structure for the vintage. Round integrated tannin with a medium finish.Balanced for the most part. This is drinking great at the moment. Excellent value. Drink now-2022.

[LFW's Château Montrose Dinner with Herve Berland at Saint Crispin Restaurant, Melbourne] Deep dark color, purple edge. Blackcurrant blackberry bouquet with notes of earth, cassis, black raspberry, licorice, coffee, graphite, herbs & subtle oak influence. Medium plus weight, quite intense, fresh & deep, reasonably concentrated with plenty of ripe firm tannins, chewy extracts & fine acidity in good harmony; mid palate a little lean & dry as fruit intensity receded over 20-30 minutes in glass, retreating into a hard shell. Long grippy finish.

Medium bodied, with a smoky, round textured, forward, licorice and blackberry essence, the wine is drinking well already and should provide a lot of pleasure more than a decade or longer.

Blending 57% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and minor bits of 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot produced a wine showing jammy black raspberry, earth and herbs. This fresh and medium-bodied wine offers a minor hint of oak, which adds to the finish. The wine was made in an easy-to-like style and should drink well early. 88-90 Pts

Château Montrose / Tronquoy-Lalande tasting; 7/2/2013-7/3/2013 (Ciel Bleu (**) Amsterdam Okura hotel): Échantillon. No rating, this wine has to be in barrel for a year. Of course it's deep purple in colour. Hints of malo. Some green element, grassy, licorice and bay leaf. mediocre finish.
