Enjoyed over two nights. It’s great straight away but evolves considerably in the glass. Upfront salty fino characters, fresh paint, orange oil, smoke, lemon curd, toasted almonds, seaweed, just heaps going on. Huge aromatic intensity, the kind of wine you notice something different each time you look. Amazing texture, feels bone dry and the acidity is accordingly sharp, actually borderline shrill at times with a real sherbety/lemony tang. Absolutely mouthwatering. Real sherryish/nutty/umami sort of flavour, slick saline/mineral feel like I get in top tier German riesling, the sense of licking rocks. I get the feeling this wine will last forever, but it’s drinking amazingly right now.

Jura tasting with Wink Lorch (Maison Vauron, Auckland, New Zealand): non-ouille. very oxidised. sweet entry, very rich and oxidised palate. green apples, raisins, walnuts, lemon meringue. perhaps slightly cloying on the finish. this is outstanding but feels over done and slightly coarse compared to the 2007 Tissot Chateau Chalon.

A wine of considerable power. The nose was petrol and paint thinner (in a good way). Massive on the palate - would've benefitted from a decant. Very complex and very long on the finish. Excellent.

Big nutty, fino-like aromatics. Palate is wonderfully fresh and precise. Had this over three nights and it was great all the way to the end. Really enjoyed this.

Wonderful impact and flow when pairing with clams in pepper-flake spiced tomato broth. A killer pairing beyond expectations.
