Black cherry & raspberry on the palate. Gentle but deep mouth feel. Not too dry. Fruit flavors are enhanced by a little mocha flavoring, which influences the finish. Tasted over 2 days. Seemed to be a narrow window for perfect showcasing of when this wine tastes its best.

Work has my blood pressure off the charts so this seemed like the right bottle to help me try to wind down. Earthy aromas over old dry herbs and dark fruit base. Easy to drink with minimal air, there's a modestly dry coating of the palate with muted aged fruit and meat. Concur with the drink by date of 2018

Exceptional. Kevin Morrissey does a wonderful job with cabernet from this property. This wine is really hitting its stride. The nose is all fruit and mushrooms now that some bottle age is doing its thing. The mid palate is huge and the finish lasts for over a minute. Mouth filling and gorgeous. This is a wine to savor. Pair with anything. Spam and eggs even. I dare you to find a way to spoil this wine. Mmmm.

Popped and slow ox'd for around 45 mins. Medium purple color with a little bit of sediment. Nose of cassis, blackberry and some toasted oak notes. Similar flavors on the palate. Not much in terms of secondary characteristics at this point but very pure and delicious fruit. Medium+ acid, medium sweet tannins. Nice finish. Just a really delicious and balanced cabernet.

120/80 is a big wine with very pronounced aromatics and smooth lingering finish. Not a lot of backbone or structure... But it is NOT a fruit bomb. Served at the correct temperature this a back deck sipping marvel, particularly at this price point!

This has a standout (hit you in the face) bouquet of perfumed blackberry. Very straightforward palate of blackberry with not a lot of movement or complexity. Medium plus acidity with smooth tannins. The wine starts better than it finishes, but is a solid effort for this price range.

Powerful, berry, oaky nose. Very perfumed, sweet, soft tannins, low acid, a touch of RS as well I suspect. This is hedonistic. Not too complex, but very tasty.

Store Tasting (Roseville, MN): 88% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, 4% cabernet franc. Dark red in color, showcasing lovely dark fruit/blackberry aromatics. This is smooth and already well integrated, although it should improve a bit in the short term. We enjoyed this much more than the 2007 vintage we tasted blind a few years earlier, finding that wine thin (when compared with other Napa cabs at the price point). I am unsure if this vintage is really that much better, or if we just really wanted some cabernet, as it's been a couple months since we last had some.

Was expecting much more from this bottling. I enjoy the 1886 offering from Ehler's and expected this 120/80 to impress. Unfortunately it felt thin and weak on the palette. Consumed over 3 days and while it showed more chocolate and dark cherry as the oak dissipated it never really came together.

Floral, fruit forward and one note out of the gate. Gains some moderate complexity after an hour or two. Oddly soft tannin for such a young wine. Also not overly rich, extracted or concentrated. Nice, easy drinking, forward wine.

Very approachable wine right now due to the mellow tannins. Very fruit forward with nice black cherry, some oak but well balanced. Nice young wine ready for immediate consumption.

Tasting Notes: A voluptuous, full-bodied, heavyweight Cabernet Sauvignon from the loamy benchland soils of our north St. Helena estate vineyard. The wine is layered with blackberry, black plums, dark chocolate, tobacco, very subtle muscone notes, and wrapped seamlessly in velvety tannins that create a structure and balance that is “classically Ehlers.” Compelling and complex, this is a fine Bordeaux style Cabernet blend that will age for decades.
Vineyard Notes: After three years of drought, the 2010 vintage rolled in with an unseasonably cold wet spring and left the vines with plenty of ground water. The buds came out a full two weeks later than normal, and the late season growth continued through flowering, fruit-set, and clear into ripening. 2010 was the coolest summer on record for the Napa Valley and the grapes developed slowly to full maturity without any adverse influences from the weather. Ehlers is nestled in one of the warmer parts of the Napa Valley, and without exception, our grapes sweetened up beautifully with small berries, thick skins, and intense flavors. The resulting wines are outstanding.
Other Notes: Oak Regime: 100% French Oak, 50% New Primary Coopers: Nadalie, St. Martin, Baron, Demptos, De Jarnac Fruit Source: 100% Estate Grown Farming: 100% CCOF Certified Organic, 100% Demeter Certified Biodynamic

was stood up against the Leviathan; those that wanted meat loved the Leviathan; those that had not so "red" preferred the Ehlers. Nice balance; you and much to give.

Very nice wine. Decanted for an hour before dinner. Big fruited nose. Black fruits and jams. Lingering aftertastes were nice.

It smells like black pepper, blackberry, chocolate and cherry. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle.
