The nose is discreet but complex. You get a subtle whiff of white flowers and white peach. The palate is rich, powerful and layered. There’s some spearmint cream and all sorts of geological matter. It has great build and is super-long.

Deeeeelish! Was a bit apprehensive about the vintage, but my fears were proven to be misguided. Rich, intense, a serious wine. Powerful but also graceful with some nervosite. Great performance from a vineyard and vintage I wouldn't have expected.

Not sure what to think of this, although I liked it. Not like any chardonnay I have ever had. Basically no fruit that I could recognize, but a burnt caramel aroma with the same on palate with a nice acidic kick. Minerally, stony. Kind of like a rock dipped in caramel and then charred. Drank on its own initially, then paired with an endive/radish salad (very acidic) that really made wine shine. This was first older white burgundy for me.

Lovely aromas, loaded with citric fruit and some apricots. Full body, well structured, fresh, solid acidity with tasty aftertaste. long finish. Not the most "interesting" wine, but a very well made and tasty one. Should hold nicely longer, but lovely now.

Drier character. Fading citrus and apricot with underlying limestone notes. 89-90

A bit fruity then I thought it should be. Not as zippy minerally as I would have hoped

Seventh Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Ripe fruit aromas, clearly showing more age than expected, certainly more than the 1997 Valmur in the next glass. Dense fruit, but rather simple overall.

A Dozen Chablis From Domaine Raveneau, Institute of Directors, Pall Mall, London: Edgy smoky nose, sulphury dampness, not wholly clean, simple acidic
