Impressively fresh with a soft, floral nose of mint, white flower, and sea breeze. Medium-light in body with flavors of orchard fruit showing persistence and saline minerality on the finish. Subtle and elegant, the 1999 Blanchot has all the hallmarks of the producer's best but none of the vintage's richness or ripeness. Drink in the next few years.

such a fresh bright bottle of raveneau, as if the vintage there's this lightness to the wine that's full of white flowers and lush soft orchard fruit. it's waxy but not rich and powerful, very compelling and easy to drink. Still needed about 2-3 hours to open up and expand on the mid palate, but when it did it was really delicious.

Pre-Paulée Warm-up Dinner (Ai Fiori - New York NY): In 99/00/02/04 vertical. Rich and unctuous, this starts out floral and ripe, perhaps not classically Chablis, but minerality and acidity emerge middle to (very long) finish. Excellent all evening, still rockstar 4 hours after it was opened.

Subtle in every way but nonetheless undoubtedly Chablis and unmistakably Raveneau. As so often seems the case, the last bottle was fresh and in perfect condition needing a 1/2 hour to become recognizable and a full 3 hours to be everything you hope for in GC Chablis with iodine, saline, citrus and nuts making for a wonderful and lengthy finish. Very good.

Deep yellow to light golden. At first, a waxy, rich nose that reminded more of Côte de Beaune Grand Cru or Savennières than Chablis. Ultimately, more brothy, saline, truffled scents. Full bodied, incredibly lush, mouth coating feel, which probably is the best aspect of the wine for me. Pear fruit rather than more typical apple or citrus, fairly diffuse and short in acidity. This is a curious wine which is by no means great.

Explosive jumps out of the glass. Opulent big juicy wine with a tight clean cirtusy finish. A little rough but beautifully fresh and young. Only signs of age is the roundening out of the fruit.

Burgundy tasting @ La Grenouille Appearance; clear, deep yellow Nose; mineral, mature fruit, dull Palate; low acid, mineral, slightly dried out mature fruits , yet tasteful and pleasant with good finish and very mature

Medium yellow. Strong presence of sulfur that quickly dissipated, although not completely. Medium weight without the typical Raveneau creaminess and sheen. Tart lemon flavors, moderate intensity and finish. Incredibly young and by my recollection, much better than Les Clos from this vintage, but stunted by the sulfur and not glorious.

Pretty nose of sweet lemons, pineapple and chalky minerals. Ripe trpoical fruit flavors along with notes of clove, apple and lime. Crisp and tangy acidity with a firm, saline-like texture. Finishes with pinpoint complexity and classic limestone minerals. A very fine Chablis from what has proven to be a somewhat difficult vintage. Mature but has the balance to age effortlessly.

Christopher Delalonde "Thank You" Lunch- light yellow green color. honeysuckle, toffee, limes on the nose. some people at the table thought it a touched oxidized, i have to say i think they just rushed through it a bit as when the wine was warming up it filled out a bit, high acidity, nice zing/zip to it, long finish. the more of these i try the more i believe they really need to be sat with for a while as they really are complex wines and when on, they develop in the glass for quite some time. no rush to drink these

lovely green yellow color but on the nose a touch of sherry mixed in with the flowery lemon smells, confirmed i the mouth that this was a touch oxidized, it was still a very young and lush wine it just had a touch of madera that i hadn't had in other bottles.

"Champagne, Chablis and a Touch of Red" Dinner (HIX Oyster and Chophouse, London): yellow green color, a touch of sulfur minerals on the nose with some citrus. this wine in the mouth was pretty interesting, it had a fresh but fine acidity and lightness to it but it seemed to keep getting longer and longer. the balance was just amazing, it showed some hazelnuts, some spice, some tartness. i kept coming back to it and it kept showing different things. a really lovely wine

lemon yellow with a hint of green, opened and decanted for an hour+ before tasting, slightly tight at first taste but then starts to reveal some lemony petrol flavors. light to medium weight wine but goes on and on for a long time. this was an amazingly clean, pure, linear wine. i kept coming back to it and every time it was a bit more complex. loved it

Hint of cat pee and lemon-lime on the nose. Structured with high acidity and real zing but not showing full maturity yet. Intense and powerful but needs time to show more complexity on the finish. 92+

A bit waxy, but with that unique chablisien saline minerality and enough acid to keep things fresh and enjoyable. Very good.

2015 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/3/2015-11/9/2015 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): The initial impression is quite fat and cloying reflecting the vintage but with air, becomes very Raveneau. Ripe orchard fruits, peach, lemon, a hint of oyster shell, saline and mineral. Very good concentration, good mineral expression, medium acidity and lovely long clean finish. Quite youthful. Decanting is recommended. Really nice showing.
