This bottle was still good, probably due to optimal storage. Very smooth, with a rather mature, but a bit flat taste, with hints of cherry-liquor and prunes.

This is over the hill and barely drinkable with some aeriation. Soft texture and mature smell, but oxidized flavours, tart fruit with something like strong nutmeg and acidity.

P: LM, poss even L body; QUITE long, but more along the lines of "just" acidity/astringency rather than grape-like "flavors". While not UNpleasant, neither can I imagine a reason TO drink this -- particularly considering the $12.99 we OVERpd for it.

On the nose this wine smells like it has potential and might be a fruit forward drinkable wine. Strawberries, under ripe cherry, slight bell pepper, chocolate.
On the palate however, pure crap!!! So astringent and unpalatable. Under ripe and sour fruit. Almost had a cellophane taste to it.
Poured it down the drain.

This was one of the first bottles I tried back in 2004, when I first got back into wine. (OK it was an earlier vintage.) And it's still a decent effort. However, I wouldn't bother paying £8 for this as there are often better options from Santa Rita (Their Medalla Real Carmenere is superb) or Vina Mayu. (See my note on their Syrah Reserva). Having said that, I got this for £4.50 in a deal at Sainsbury's and at that price it's still an excellent option. Blackcurrant, a bit of chocolate. Very good, but buy when on offer.

Viaje a Guatemala y Panamá; 3/8/2014-3/18/2014 (Guatemala and Panamá): From half bottle. Profound violet colour for aromas of red fruits aromas with unrefined smoke. Disgusting plastic strawberries taste. Bitter and quite long for what it is... There were better vintages, think so. Matching sincronizadas at Casa Amelia in Flores.

I must be drinking a different wine to everyone else. This is really grim. Yeah so £6.00 on offer sounds like good value but then so's a bottle of white spirit at this price. Painfully green. I imagine that this is what chewing on a doc leaf must taste like. I can't possibly rate this. I suppose one positive is that when it went down the sink it cleared the blockage in the waste pipe.

“Mixed Bag of Cabernets from around the World”-Tasting, Wine 1 (non-blind), in February 2014. The wine was medium to dark purple in colour and offered a fruity nose of black currant, sour cherry, vinegar as well as hints of bell pepper, coffee and chocolate. On the palate the wine showed sweet fruit, black currant, cherry, young blackberry and a hint of coffee, paired with medium-plus acidity, medium-plus ripe tannin and good length. A simple but well-made, fruit-forward, medium- to full-bodied Cabernet. Drink now and over the next two to three years.

Volle krachtige wijn, met in de neus blauwe bes, bramen vanille en een pepertje. Zuurgraad en tannines mooi in balans, alcohol iets te beel van het goede naar mijn mening, lange zwoele afdronk met genoeg complexiteit. Prijs-kwaliteit top!!

Deep, almost black cherry red. Lots of vanilla and oriental spice on the nose. In the mouth there's stacks of young blackcurrent flavours, firm tannins and well balanced acidity. Quite rich and full bodied, this is a well made wine, well up to the usual quality of the Concha y Toro winery.

Dark, slightly translucent purple color. Quite light and restrained but also rather sweet nose with aromas of very ripe dark fruits, some pungent blackcurrant character and a little bit of jammy dark berries. On the palate the wine feels excessively soft, flabby and round with jammy flavors of blackcurrant jam, blackberry jam, overripe plums, clumsy and woody oak, some toasted oak spice and a hint of cherry marmalade. The wine is quite low on acidity and the tannins are practically nonexistent. The finish is short but very rich and super-juicy with straightforward, one-dimensional flavors of blackcurrant juice concentrate, overripe blackcurrants, disjointed woody oak, some stewed plums and a hint of herbal greenness.
A textbook example of Chilean plonk. For the life of me I can't understand why anybody would buy this wine, even if it was sold for next to nothing? The wine has no structure to speak of and the flavors are dull, overripe and excessively sweet, bearing very little to no relation to any well-made Cabernet. Even tannins - the hallmark of Cabernet Sauvignon - have been filtered away from the wine, probably because they were either too harsh from the lousy vineyard management, or then the grapes were just left to get overripe and lose all their tannic grip. Whatever the case, this is a real disgrace of a wine and a complete rip-off at 9,99€. Avoid.

Vinos americanos durante viaje a Perú; 9/26/2015-10/19/2015 (Perú + Dallas): Después de ser aireado un par de veces, saca un gran aroma a pimienta y madera.
En boca, poco cuerpo pero agradable.
