Dark ruby, opaque. Funky forest floor with baking spices on the nose, strawberry and bramble on the palate, with more earth at the end, silky mouthfeel, medium body, fine tannins, with a long finish.

Deep dark red. Aromas of cherry. Palate expands to cherry, cola and rhubarb with taut tannin finish. Drinking nicely now but should benefit from a year or two in the bottle.

Consistently good midweek wine (or if you don't want to bust out something over $40) From a split - pleasant dark berry and cherry mixed with a mild steminess. Stronger acid that balances the high (14.5%) alcohol but Siduri is known for that

Plummy, strawberry, hints of licorice and violets; has a savory finish with a modest bite of acidity. Red candy flavors and a bit of heat take this down a notch.

A nice wine to open after the work week ends. From a split. Dark fruit and good acidic balance. The alcohol was initially off-putting but soon blew off with some air-time. Good QPR and splits are great when you don't want to commit to a full bottle

By the glass at the BA lounge and looked like a recently opened bottle. This wine is not our style of Pinot and thus one needs to adjust our TN for personal taste. Quite ripe, sweet, new world feel, rich, dark fruits. Forward and for lovers of fruity wines this is on the money bu a touch too sweet and spicy for us. 87 in our scale.

Twisted this off for a week night glass from 375. Dark in color, lots of red and black fruit tones here, with the SLH acids. Cherry, jammy strawberry, kiwi and a brooding, darker quality that permeates the wine. Not of the delicate variety, more burly and well-suited for a cold night where you want some meat on the pinot bones. Finish has some grip, although I admit the wine has been open only about 90 mins so we'll save one glass tomorrow and look for where it lands....lots of stuffing here, black cherry, dark strawberry and root beer. Still burly for me today, although my palate tends to drink in a style that is lighter than how this wine expresses itself so take that into account for your own calibration. Overall, this shows some structure and acidity to buffer the darker fruit so I'd say give it another year or so and let it settle some more.

Young, very young. Mineral spicy and almost muscular. Give it a couple of years and it will be excellent. Right now its very good with bright red fruit at the core

Always a good value in every vintage - and the 2012 is no exception. Based on my past experiences, I would normally wait another year or two to open this wine, but it was on special at a restaurant - so why not give it a go? Nice bright flavors of cherry and dark berry with a touch of spice and earth. Firm and lean texture, and overall still a bit tight. I would expect improvement with more time.

Dark crimson in color, this wine revealed moderately intense aromas of blackberry and dark cherry on the nose. The mouth feel brought silky, sweet tannins and a musky, spice element. The finish was firm and the 14.5% ABV came out at the end, rolling over the fruit with a slight burn.
Purchased for $18US/375ML, this is a well made wine that was a little controversial when shared with my GF. I liked it much more than she did as the musky element was off-putting to her.

On opening I was put off by a distinctive sweet note and a lack of general structure that suggested a PN in the $10 range rather than a $29 one. After a few days in the wine cooler the sweetness vanished and the structure improved somewhat, but this was still a disappointment at the price, although by no means bad. Mediocre at best, especially at this price.

Chicago Pinot Days (Navy Pier - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. A slight step up from the RRV, this shows a more broad array of cherry aromas and flavors with good textures and moderate length.

just tasted at the winery alongside their single vineyard offerings both from the santa lucia and sonoma regions (with a wilmette valley thrown in for good measure). this is a wonderful wine with delicate red fruit and slight floral notes. very nice finish. holds its own against the other so cal as well as the nor cal siduri bottlings and the price is hard to beat. i should have bought more.

Root beer, raspberry, chamomile, blueberry and warm stone. Inextricably sound and the fruit is reticent. Shrouded with a plush cape. A quite focused palate on every level. Drink 2014 - 2020.

Siduri & Novy Tasting (Santa Rosa, CA): Smells jammy, with darker fruit than the 2012s from Sonoma. I also pick up some cedar and rose aromas. Big and full on the palate, the dark plum fruit mixes together with some blueberry as well. Smoke and coffee on the finish. Despite the rich fruit, the wine maintains some tartness.

This was drank with grill-baked king salmon. Delicious with loads of cherry fruit and cola. I would say this is at peak drinking.
