This blend of Cab., Cab. Franc and Malbec blend comes across big, extracted, rich and silky smooth. Plums and prunes with spice and earth and a bit to sweet. Nothing lost yet.

1 hour decant. Blood-to-purple color. No sediment. Nose with strong cassis, less blackberry, raspberry, and raisin with a sharp vanilla extract note (vanilla and high alcohol) and wafts of cedar and slate. Tastes of blackberry and raspberry jam with plenty of heat and dark chocolate on the aftertaste. Medium-to-full extraction. Tannins leave a chalky to leathery texture. Medium on the finish and acidity.
Bottle claims 15 ABV but I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to 16.

This is a blend of malbec, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and syrah. Solid on its creamy, warm, involving style, with a surprising level of complexity. Black currant, blueberries, olives, caramel, black pepper, basel and graphitte, all can be found in this dense full bodied wide open wine, of suitable tannins, delivering a long and savory licorice/mineral finish. Feels like a french syrah blend, less elegante, more opulent. 92

Good rasinated fruit qualities, semi-dark choc. Strong liqueur and spice notes. Approaching lush tannins and mouth feel with a little masculine coarseness that one would hope for. Decent acidity. Fairly hot. Enjoyable, but not the wow I was expecting from the reviews of previous vintages. Neither as full bodied, nor as full flavored as I anticipated. Lacks a little depth in the middle and has some vegetal tones, and a sharp edge that never truly breathes out.
That said, I very much enjoyed it and like others have noted, I felt that for the price it's a good go to in place of a ripasso, and better flavored than 'value' Amarones. I enjoyed the influence of the cab franc, and Malbec seems to lend itself well to this method. A clever blend of grapes. Fruit went a little blunt when I paired it with lasagne, but I felt the whole time like it was screaming for a good Romano. Curious to see how it ages. If it settles well and doesn't collapse in structure, this could prove a very excellent wine in time.

Lukter mørke bær. Fruktig smak dominert av kirsebær og tørkede mørke bær. Kraftig og lang ettersmak, men litt for mye merkbar alkohol i ettersmaken. Minner om Amarone. Litt, men ingen skjemmende tanniner. Godt, men litt mye alkoholsmak.

DIAM cork. A blend of 45% Malbec, 40% Cab-Sauvignon, 10% Bonarda and 5% Cabernet Franc. Not very deep but a rich hue; lovely balsamic notes and a hint of chocolate on the nose, rich fruit, good depth; sweet and round attack but hollow and hot (15% ABV) mid-palate, with a certain rawness on the finish; decent length but a bit vegetal. My first experience with this wine; from the TN's on CT I get the impression that previous vintages may have been far better. (87) On the second day the wine fills out and gains weight on the palate, but it doesn't complete shed it hot and hard edge.

New World Blind Tasting Group $25+ (Bin 75): Dark core, almost semi-translucent, bright reddish garnet rim; tar and blackberry dominate the nose with candied plum, exotic spice, red fruit tucked beneath these other items, interesting; sweet palate showing lots of ripeness, prune, plum, spice, some alcohol, soft tannin, glycerin, decent acid, good.

Fun concept. Delicious, but not complicated. Has that luxurious, oily appassimento mouthfeel with sweet black cherries and raisins. Some Argentina shows through with a tart minerality not found in the Italian version. I found it slightly hot. A few more years and it should be perfect. This is a good value for Amarone lovers: about the price of a decent Ripasso, and better than cheap Amarones in the same price range.

I had a 2008 couple months ago and it was great. This one not so much or maybe a bad bottle. It wasn´t that extracted and took more than an hour in the decanter to open up. Should revisit within some months and see the evolution. Won´t rate it now because I don´t think this bottle represents the wine since I had other vintages of enamore in other occasions.

Black core with thin light purple rim, high extraction and viscosity is visible; very sweet dark fruit, spice, almost Port-like but without the alcohol burn; big, sweet dark fruit, sweet and grainy tannin, definitely feels like an Amarone, decent balance; interesting and good.

Big, bold and smooth. Lots of dark berries here and a hint of spice. Holding up very well. Drink up!

Very weird this time. Medicinal flavors gave this bottle a very off taste from the opening to more than an hour in the decanter.
Just a bad bottle...

A consistent well balanced wine with supple fruitiness. One of our favorite reds.
