Sensational wine, far exceeding expectations for its age & 2nd hand nature. With the band back together [Jon and Tom and Tom], paired brilliantly with filet oscar style @ Laurelhurst JaKs.

Opaque purple in color. 14.5% ABV. Sublime nose of black fruits, cassis liqueur, tobacco and violets. Dense, concentrated and super silky. Exceptional balance. Black currants, raspberries, coffee and chocolate on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Great wine that is aging brilliantly. This will easily cruise to twenty years of age. Best over the next 4-6 years.

Like-new cork. Youthful nose & color. Ripe, not a hint of green. Bright cassis, well resolved tannins. Good acidic lift. Many years ahead of it. Last bottle in my cellar :(

Gorgeous nose of black currants, dried flowers and woodsy notes. On the palate the currants are joined by blackberry and cedar. Medium tannin with relatively high acidity, the structural components form a nice counter to the ripe fruit, keeping it all in balance. Probably the most Bordeaux-like Leonetti we have ever had, reminded us of a top quality St. Estephe. Plenty of time left. www.advinetures.ca

Dacanted 2 hours and then poured. Extraordinarily aromatic. Bordeaux like.
Boy did i sense Lavendar flowers after the dried fruits and then I read the note of CT member DREDWARDO. Who used the term "confected" and I totally agreeed ...... boom an epiphany of sorts. What an apropos note.
This wine has depth and elusiveness. It is eXtraordinary for a WA CAB. Try nailing down some notes and others emerge. Still young and maturing. This wine has easily 10 more years. Wait !

This was the first wine of a 10 wine double blind tasting. All raved about it. Final result was #2 WOTN against the likes of 2000 Lafite Rothschild, 2001 Ornellaia, 2005 Schrader, etc. Amazing result of the night was the #1 WOTN, a $5 ringer from Spain. All participants left the dinner contemplating the sale of their cellars.

Fabulous bottle of wine. Silky smooth, and still very vibrant and alive. Butter-like texture with creamed black fruits that coat the tongue and provided a perfect compliment to the steak we had at Capital Grill. A very special bottle of wine, shared with very special friends, that didn't disappoint. How many times when selecting a wine for the evening do you move past some of your top bottles, thinking "Is this the right night?" Too many for me. Glad I pulled the cork on this one.

decanted for 90 minutes. Very dark. Not showing signs of aging. Nose was strong in the beginning but then wavered. Taste was very flavorful until the end. Maybe has another 3-4 years.

Deep purple color with a bouquet and flavor of cassis and dust, and with a bit of eucalyptus. Very silky with a soft feeling from the dusty tannins. Nicely nuanced with a good finish. Interesting and extremely enjoyable.

- Crimsom color with medium forming legs and aromas of tobacco, licorice anise and rose. It's balanced and has flavours of tobacco, prune, fig and mushroom with a medium/full body. Satin-Like texture with a long finish - Very good, but most likely over the hill, unless this was a flawed bottle. Fruit was muted and somewhat dry, though still with full mouth feel, with flavors of saddle leather and dried flowers.

The nose had aromas of eucalyptus and black plums. The palate had flavors of mint, eucalyptus, dark cherries and a little note of mocha. Good mouthfeel and a really long finish. This was a fantastic bottle of Leonetti, and really what I really enjoy about WA Cabernet.

Deep, deep purple. Huge sweet nose of cassis, blackberry and oak. Simply a big, big wine with lots and lots of sweet oak -- yet somehow pulls it off due to the purity and delineation of the fruit. Almost unlike any Bordeaux blend I have had, certainly due to the extent of oak but its manifestation is unlike anything I have had before. Certainly not classic or traditional, but much different from modern also -- almost its own thing. Lots of licorice, dark fruit, sweet plums, spice. Different. I am guessing this could be amazing in 5-10 years if the fruit holds up while the oak mellows some.

Wow. Needs decant at this stage. But.. after an hour, about 67 degrees: Young, powerful wine with great concentration, fine tannins, and fruit that bursts through, stains the palate, and occupies your mouth for quite awhile. Wish I had waited for more warmrth and more air but could not resist. Will be great for many a year... Still finishing...Wow!

Humongous amounts of really sweet fruit both on the nose and the palate, but some oak as well. Pretty sure I drank this too young....needs some time for all the components to come together. Hold for a couple years and I'm sure it will be great drinking for 10+ years.

Drank this Saturday night at my grandfather's 87th birthday dinner. I talked my uncle into opening this since I had never had a Leonetti Reserve, just their cab and sangiovese. I think the main problem was that we drank this after an 05 Quilceda (which was fantastic). I know Leonetti can be know for some serious oak treatment, but damn that thing was an oak monster. Oak, cedar box, vanilla cream, cassis, and other red fruits dominated the nose. Luckily, on the palate there was barely enough fruit to make the oak tolerable. I can definitely see how this wine will improve with age as it loses the stranglehold the oak has on it now. There is enough fruit and acid to allow it to develop for ten years. I think we just popped this one way too early. 90pts.

Amongst the best WA cabs I have ever had. At first, the decanted bottle tasted good, but nothing too special, but them it started to open up and unfold. When it did open up it displayed delicious rich fruit with layers of smooth deep flavor. And it just got better and better. Thankfully, I still have two bottles left!

Incredible inky purple color; boysenberry earthy nose; chalky; earthy; bordeaux-like; excellent finish; great structure; once opened, the nose is incredible; the texture was chewy and lush -- this met all expectations.
