Garnet red in the glass. Perfumed / floral with hints of rosewood. Medium body with some refined tannins, and cloves and cherry on the palate. Lovely finish with some liveliness albeit a bit austere (in a good way).

A pleasant surprise - well balanced, fruity but not overripe, nice acidity cutting through to make it easy to sip. The palates shows nice, fresh fruit components (raspberry, underripe cherry) with a hint of earth and forest. Floral characteristics on the nose along with the fruit and earth.

Three years since my last taste of this wine, and it is as good as ever, perhaps even better. The first thing that comes through is red raspberry, followed by some herbal and floral aromas. The palate is well balanced, and the fruit and floral elements carry through the palate, joined by a touch of damp earth and leaves. This is a joy to drink now, and seems to be entering a much more complex stage of life. Too bad I have already drank almost all of my bottles!

Third of three bottles and drinking outrageously good over three nights. Peak was probably night two. Full, gorgeous aromatics leaned towards black cherry, with loads of stemmy herb and spice. Palate had medium-to-full concentration and excellent structural acidity. Fresh and so balanced. Really played up for it's level. Best bottle from my 3-pack and a good signal that these benefit from a few years in the cellar.

Dark crimson opaque color. Very dull color - murky. Savory notes. Some baking spice and pepper. Palate is moderate complex with a nice spice driven finish.

Enjoyed this over two nights. Note from night two. Full nose has generous, intense stemmy fruit with florals and earth coming together for a really pretty aromatic profile. Palate has medium weight and velvety texture. Suave tannin. Bright acids. Medium finish. A lovely appellation Pinot. Really, really hard to to this value!

Lovely, but doesn't hit my sweet spot like the Syrahs do. Much better and more complete than it was a few years ago - nice balance, lots of flavor and texture packed onto a medium weight frame. Great with dinner.

Second bottle in a year. This was just about the same. I noticed more fizz on this one, which reminded me more of beaujolais. Still cranberry, raspberry, dark fruit, high acid, low alcohol. More cherry cola this time. Once again, wind gap is one of the best in america, but their syrah is the real deal and the pinot is good, just not as good.

Very sonoma coast. Raspberry. Olives. Dark fruit and a little tannin. high acid and low alcohol. You can taste the bad weather, even in 2012. I don't think it's too green and I also think its not easy to get better vaLues at $35. I do think that wind gaps syrahs are better than their pinot and chard.

Day1: American pinot on rather green side, pale colored and with nice finnesse, but too simple and quiet at nose. Unintegrated raw wood scent and tannin. Later it gained some odd tropical luciousness like mangostine.
Day2: green coffee. Weak nose. No improvement.
Day3: Integrated. Nice round red fruit. No much complexity.
At $35, you can find a lot of better value even in burgundy.

Nose is full of nice earthy and herbal tones, with lots of mossy forest floor and cedar chest and some mulling spices thrown in for good measure. Palate is all about tart red fruit: pie cherries, raspberries, a little cranberry. A savory finish with sage and allspice lingers along with plenty of residual acidity. Nicely complex, but nicely approachable.

Wow is this ever good. Packed with red fruits, earth tones and framed by a combination of acid and tannin, this is about the most complete Wind Gap Pinot Noir experience I have had to date. It's "just" the Sonoma Coast, but it drinks much more upmarket. Very delicious wine. Have a few more to cellar, but wish I had lots more. Several months of time has really brought this wine together.

I concur with Richard Jennings note.. Gorgeous tart fruits.. but mixed with earthier notes which will emerge in a few years.. gorgeous and had with wild wood grilled salmon last night.. My suggestion.. wait 3 to 4 years or decant for 24 hours

Pale strawberry/garnet colour. Delicate nose of plums and melons. Light-bodied and balanced. Tastes of cherries and plums. A delicate wine with finesse.

Darker color than expected. Floral characteristic others used suits the nose. Bright acids made me think it was spritzy on first taste. Minimal tannin, earthiness, oak- this is all about red fruits. Lengthy finish.

12.75% alcohol. Mike Dildine's excellent note on this wine pretty much nailed it -- rose petal pretty. A great term. And very true about this wine. It's restrained, elegant, and packs a nice punch of floral and spice notes to go with darker red fruits. This is quite wrapped up, and it probably will be better with another 2-3 years in bottle at a minimum. Very pretty. A-

Very nice- perfumed, volatile and tart; mouth filling but light, ethereal but earthy... there's really no word that captures the essence of this kind of wine, so I'm just going to call it 'plouffy,' which is as close as I can get. Not built for the long haul, and modestly structured, will still evolve nicely for the next few years.

Spicy - maybe a little whole cluster? Super floral and savory at the same time. Surprising weight, but I suspect baby fat and that this will tauten (is that a word?) up over time. Too early for this wine, needs some time to really refine itself and show its elegance. That said, I don't find this wine (or the pinots in general) as compelling as other offerings from Pax. Thoroughly enjoyable, but it doesn't snap my head around... Glad I have a couple, though.

12.75% alcohol. Medium ruby color. Expressive red fruit aromas. On the palate, red fruit with floral overtones. Good depth with a surprisingly long finish. Like the other '12 Sonoma Coast I've tasted (Littorai), this one is rose-petal pretty. Very nice.

More Oregon or Gevrey than Sonoma. Moderate tannins for a Pinot. Primary fruit still there. Would have guessed younger. Nice medium acidity.
