14.1% alcohol; 'Sonoma Coast', NY Wine Club premium selection, distributed by Global Wine Co.; heavy weight foil, real cork, long legs, amber color; nose of fruit and alcohol, traces of vanilla and lychee; tasted at ca 14 degrees C; a complex layered wine with some restraint but not too much in any one direction; no unpleasant Beigeschmack, nice balance, including the finish, some citrus and sweeter fruit; nevertheless not especially fruit forward; little trace of buttery quality or secondary malolactic fermentation, an outstanding chardonnay, cries out for pairing with Chilean Sea Bass, preferably grilled on a cedar board

While this clearly had the ripest fruit of the group, it was not over the top in any way and was very enjoyable. Had it side by side with a 2010 Château de Chamirey Mercurey Blanc and 2015 Goodfellow Durant, and this fell in between the two for my preferences (liked the Goodfellow the best).

A lean chardonnay, which is unusual. NOt a very good finish. But pleasant sipping chard. and decent value. Actually probably goes better with food because acidity is high..

To me, this was a total oak bomb. I don't care if it's only 30% new oak. It tasted and smelled like vanilla, creme brule and toasted hazelnuts. There was some nice ripe fruit under this, golden apple, ripe peach and pear, but it was totally masked. Not enough acid for me either. Ugh. Tiresome to drink and absolutely impossible to pair with food.

Sojourn Tasting Solon Visit (Sonoma Sq.): Winery tasting. Nose is toasty with tropical fruit and a mineral kick. Palate has good, pure fruit with an underlying acidic backbone that provides balances, freshness and length. Well made. On the simpler side. 87-89

PnP, cellar temp. Nose of pear, tropical fruit, lemon pith (?). Pale to bright golden color, crystal clear. Big, very ripe fruit on palate, medium acidity, medium plus weight/mouthfeel. Very ripe style of wine with enough acidity and oak to balance it out. Medium finish.

Liquid Farm 4/4 Blind Chardonnay Shootout, Charleston (LWS): Liquid Farm 4/4 Blind Chardonnay Shootout. This one actually had significant ripeness for what I expected from Sonoma Coast. I think the structure and oak support the ripeness quite well, producing a nicely balanced wine. Asian pear, mixed citrus and some toasty nuts.

Refreshing and expertly balanced. Medium acidity. Some oak, citrus, lemon, pineapple, honeysuckle and beautiful minerality. This is excellent.

A very nice smooth mouth feel on this wine. Nice long finish. Some honey suckle and green apple aromas and flavors. Aging nicely.

Very well balanced wine. Peach, apple, citrus with hint of vanilla. moderate oak. Can't understand Rombauer as a comp.

Great chardonnay with plenty of citrus and just enough butter.

Stone and tropical fruit with some apple. Rich, decently high acidity with some slight oaky. Lots of old world characteristics.

Refreshing and more balanced than a traditional oak dominated chard. Citrus and pineapple with a subtle vanilla finish. This is beautiful.

Pale gold. Tropical fruit, apple, lemon, minerality, and well judged oak. Nice long finish. This really punches above its weight.

Honeyed tropical fruit, bit of lemon. Nice streak of acidity balances the ripeness. Long finish.

Apples, peaches, a little floral. a touch of oak. Medium body. This one is pleasant to drink but not terribly distinctive.

Pretty light straw color. Easy drinking. Better than most chards that are out there. I thought I tasted a bit of fruit in the background. Just a bit.
