I had always wanted to taste this wine and was afraid that my expectations were too high and yet, this mostly blend of Cabernet and Nero d'avola is worth it. Dark colour with mauve trimmings. Elegant aromas of iron ore, bleeding flesh, hazelnuts, violets, mahogany, dried herbs, melted butter or even anise on a mineral bed. Pure complexity on the nose with elegance and precision. On the palate stands out for its watery texture, a surprising almost absence of structure and a preponderant acidity together with a high level of sediments. Scarce and slightly alcoholic finish. Delicious aftertaste of ripe cherries. Next time I will try to put less vodka in my beef stroganoff :-) By the way consider that score this bottle below 90 is nothing more than a joke.
Delicioso postgusto a cerezas maduras.

Still very intense, dense, lots of dark cherries, black pepper, quite dry. Long and on the hotter side, nice with rich meals, robust. Might have 2-4 more years to go but very good now.

A Diverse Night of Italian Wines (Leonardo's, Solvang, CA): Served blind. A vexing wine to place, as the oak-dominated nose seemed so out of place for Italy. Ripe plum and cherries, spice and chocolate, with a firm acid backbone. I was surprised to see the producer as I would have expected more typicity.

Deep dark purple, a whiff of dust on the nose after some airing time, but dominated by thick blue tones, plums, black currant jelly, anis, cocoa. On the palate well integrated yet grippy tannins, chili, coffee, markedly dry, ripe fruit in the background.
A robust wine, good food pairing, with many years left.

Driven by warm, ripe fruit. Full-bodied and still with some tannins. Cherries, chocolate, volcanic minerals and some lovely spices from the oak. Dense and concentrated, yet elegant and very drinkable. A great wine that surely will last for a while in a good cellar.

Great QPR here! Would have guessed this was at least 10€ more had I gotten it blind. Open and big nose of dark berries, blackcurrant, woody oak, ceder, barnyard, slight dirt and some tar. Very Bdx-like to me. High intensity on the palate with good, fresh acidity, tough tannins and a great length. Good stuff, and will most definitely buy a few for the cellar.

A Few Sighted Italian Wines (My Place - Washington, DC): Bold purple color. Big-time aromatic display: dark cherries, blueberries and blackberries, laced with smoke and cocoa powder and anise. Sturdy tannins and medium- acid, but the complexity is impressive. Bluberries and black cherries covered in pepper, cocoa powder, loamy soil and roasted chestnuts. Finishes with anise and a flavor that reminds me of an herbal liqueur. Very young, this needs a few years before it settles down. A blend of Cabernet, Nero d’Avola and Tannat. SRP $45.

Very dark garnet core with lighter rim, semi-translucent; sandalwood, dark cherry, rose, very deep, menthol, nose not too dissimilar to that of a ripe Barolo; richly fruited, ripe cherry, raspberry, almost fig, leathery tannin, some good acid to balance, lots of licorice, long finish; very good; reminds me of a cross between Einaudi and Vieux Telegraphe.

Rund i munnen. Aningen eldigt.
Trevligt vin för <200 kr. Väldigt mycket italien över det.
