Not super tannic, but a little shut down in my opinion. This was a very good wine, but probably needs to get past this phase. I'd hold for 3-4 more years.

Excellent wine that has aged very well - which is no surprise for a good Barolo. Could still cellar another couple of years and maybe more before it loses its vigour.

Wonderful, took about 2 hrs to fully open up. Heady aromatics, fabulous. Deep, dense, layered black cherry, potpourri, mint, licorice. In the early part of drinking window, will be a treat to revisit 3-5 yrs.

Decanted several hours before drinking with beef tenderloin and lyonnaise potatoes. Significant sediment-glad I used a screen.. Roses and red fruit on the nose but also typical eucalyptus. Those notes carry over to the plate. Medium acidity and fine medium tannins. There is a weight and richness to the wine that makes it substantial but not at all heavy. The finish lingers and there is a note of cherries at the core. Drinking well with plenty of time left.

2 hours decant. keeping it at 17-18 degrees. Beuatiful brickred color. Nose is a little bit muted at first. 2 hours in it is another wine. violets, hay grass, red currants, cherries, mint chocolate, cinnamon, dry stones crushed together, gravel papery, black tea, a tiny hint of mushrooms and some balsamic raisiny notes. First sip is a bit brutal as with all prime nebbiolos....need foood! In the mouth there's a beautiful purity of red light fruit derieved from strawberrys and redcurrants but with a massive tannic backbone, yet drinkable enough at this stage if you pair it with some richer food, then No Problems. It is a really great wine and the 14.5 alc vol does not show at all, keep cooler though! wow.

Very good but will be interesting to see if more time in the cellar elevates this wine to match its price point! Unexpected cork seepage on this bottle may have impacted the score.

Served double-blind, I was in Barolo zone, though it was far too coiled to get any messages from Cannubi. A pretty wine, with rather bold tannic build, and good supporting acidity. Medium-bodied, with good tension and avg freshness. HOLD. Drink 2021-2035
Barolo and other wines from Borgogno (Stockholm): Nose with ripe red berries and some dark berries, some violets and some liquorice notes. Powerful palate, stony minerality, dark cherries, and rather noticeable tannins. Young and tough, 91+ p. More powerful nose than the 2008 Barolo Liste, and considerably more tannin-dominated. Without doubt the toughest of the three 2008 Barolos from Borgogno tasted at this occasion.

Tender aromas of raspberry and violets. Stylistically, somewhere in between Liste and Fossati and less expressive than both, rather soft and shy. Tannic aftertaste. Tar, very long.

Still a terrific bottle. Great nose that belies its age. Would not wait too much longer to drink this vintage - window seems to be closing.

Solid Barolo that has improved somewhat over the past couple of years. Lots of life left with this vintage

Closed up compared to the Fossati and Liste. Cherry, and excellent richness. Some menthol Silky, rich, long and with a future. 92+
