Decanted and aired for 3 hrs. Nose: Amazing 9/10. Lychee, black tea. Palate: 8/10. Medium-light body. Raspberry, tea. Soft, round tannin. Finish: Very good 7/10. Hints of iron at the end. Price: 8/10. ($75, 2023). Enjoyment: 9/10. Would buy again: maybe. Would not hold for much longer.

Dark ruby; cherry on the nose; a beautiful combination of blueberry, cassis, prune, and black cherry on the palate, with a subtle note of bitter seeds on the finish. These layers are gradually changing in the glass. Full body, perhaps a bit excessive in alcohol

Drinking beautifully. 1st night open. Violets, forest floor, black tea and raspberry couli. Very nice. *2nd night. Roses dominant on the palette. *4th night strawberries and hay. *5th night violets again and end of bottle. Epilogue: Great bottle, not bad at all for a non-descript Sonoma Coast. Definitely better than most on the Sonoma Coast. Beautiful. Been trying the Aubert portfolio. All impeccably good if not great.

I must say that I was shocked by the performance of this wine. I purchased upon release and had removed from professional storage. I was worried it would be over the hill. It is a beautiful and vibrant wine with wonderful red fruit note and a distinctive long finish. Palette which is in perfect balance is stronger than the nose but still a terrific wine. Does not show the bombastic characteristics of some of the single vineyard designations from this period for Aubert which is a plus. Enjoy!!

I’m not in at winery or retail price but pre-aged @ $50 on the secondary market, yeah, ok.
The nose reveals; ripe, sour, dark cherries, blackberries, black raspberries, dry cranberries, strawberries, plum, raspberries & blueberries, spice, clove, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, vanillin, anise to black licorice, sweet tarriness, dark, rich, earth, tree bark/sap, eucalyptus, maple syrup, dry crushed rocks, volcanics, limestone with some very bright, brilliant, candied fresh & withering; dark, red, purple & blue florals.
The nose at this point is better than the palate.
Ripe, sour, dark cherries, blackberries, black raspberries, dry cranberries, strawberries, plum, raspberries some rhubarb & blueberries, dark spice pronounced palate heat, clove, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, vanillin, anise to black licorice, dark, sweet tarriness, dark, rich, earth, tree bark/sap, eucalyptus, dry stems, maple syrup notes, dry crushed rocks, volcanics, limestone with some very bright, brilliant, candied fresh & withering; dark, red, purple & blue florals. The acidity is a February waterfall in Hawaii. The finish is a little hot but, palatable, well balanced, nice tension & structure, elegant, lush, ruby, persistent, landing on deep spice & earth.
Hits 9.2 rounding up a bit.

A wonderful bottle of Sonoma Coast pinot. A little thin or I would have scored it a few points higher but I got dry herbs and peppermint along with bright red fruits. If I had any additional bottles I would drink them in the next three years.

This was surprisingly outstanding. Alcohol content was not a factor; as it drank as smooth as any pinot I have enjoyed. Light rose colored and perfectly balanced. Wish I had more!

Big, layered, rich Pinot. Definitely California, definitely Aubert. Bright red fruit on the nose, with some sweet strawberry jam and violets. On the palate, big rich red fruit: strawberries, cherries, and some pepper. You need to be in the mood for this, tonight we were, and it worked really well!

Aubert has the ability to make wines that are rich, long and distinctive. Even their entry level Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is long and rich with terrific cherry fruit with an equally impressive finish. You can pop and pour this and enjoy from sip one.

PnP and Thanksgiving dinner #1. This was very good. Aubert all the way. Nice nose of sour cherry and some wet earth. Good fruit on the palate. More cherry and some other red fruit spectrum. Not as complex as the single vineyards but a nice Pinot for sure.

Love properly aged, single vineyard Aubert but this is my third bottle of the entry level offering and I just can't warm to it. Lots of alcohol and heat tends to overwhelm the fruit. I am a fan of more earthy CA Pinot like Sea Smoke and frankly, the single vineyard Aubert. This has more of the fruity, burgundy style but in my opinion, takes it too far. Maybe this improves with age but at $60 is a bit pricey for what it is.

See previous notes from 06/27/15. Nothing has changed. A nice Burgundy style Pinot with focus on the perfume and bright fruit. A little too much acidity for me. Rather pricey at $60 from the winery. It. Is possible this needs more time.

Nose of cherry fruit, currants, and a touch of smoke, more of the same on the palate, massive wine with lots of rich fruit when compared to the other four Pinot Noirs tasted tonight, will improve the next two years but delicious tonight with the Duck Canard, big body, long, long flavorful finish and aftertaste.

OK entry level offering from this quality producer. Deep ruby color but crystal clear. A touch of perfume on an otherwise undistinguished nose. On the palate, this was more of a Burgundy style with lots of bright red cherry and raspberry and a bit of alcohol. As I have noted in the past, this is not my preferred style of Pinot but what I find interesting is that some of the older single vineyard Aubert are a bit different, reflecting more earthy characteristics. Still, this was OK though a bit pricey at $60.

PnP, Drinking dates are very conservative. This has easily 5 more years. Glad we have more. Plenty of acidity with bright red fruit. Save it...

A bit hot which detracts from the fruits somewhat. Very spicy notes and full throttled. Good wine extraction just needed less oak and alcohol to it

More like a Russian river pinot than a Sonoma coast. Nice to drink for the fruitiness and aroma. It's a bit concerning to see 15% alcohol though.

Above average Pinot from CA, however still no finish or layers, was little less fruity as compared to other CA Pinots. Tasty though for table drinking
