Absolutely fabulous rosé, even if it's too young at this stage. Served from magnum and shared over about 4 hours. Initially it was extremely aromatic, and basically jumped out the glass. As it got some air, it started to show more structure and minerals, but after two hours where the temp had gone up a bit, it really came around, and showed the magic, I associate with this wine. If you have any bottles or magnum, wait at least a year or two for the bottles, and maybe 3-5 years for the magnums.

Sadly my last bottle. Slightly astringent and bitter on opening, likely due to being too cold. As it came up in temperature, it began showing more complexity. Best on day two, suggesting that this hasn’t hit full maturity yet.
I wish I’d bought several cases of this.

Davy's Strange Magnum Attractor (Hawksmoor Guildhall): Still improving I think. A lovely zing to it, but also depth. A savoury strawberry hint perhaps. Someone had commented that this was turning from a rose champagne into a champagne, and I can see this. Yum. Probably my #2 wotn.

Mid peach with a touch of pink. Very harmonious now, this has really improved bottle to bottle over the past four years. Now good from the off. Still some strawberry fruit on the nose, but the palate is now more about a nicely rich Champagne, colour less relevant, though in this case it is providing some richness and mid palate depth more akin to an older blanc but without any loss of freshness. Really lovely. ****

Great wine, enjoyable now, but honestly it needs more time. Sadly, I've disregarded that advice and drank the case down to one bottle. Fresh raspberries and strawberries intermingle with citrus and floral notes. The last glass was best; started out tight.

Mid orangey pink. Initially quite vinous and lean on the nose, blossoming after around 30mins to a far fuller, richer strawberry nose. Mid weight on the mid palate, quite rich and a lovely wild strawberry f8nish. This is coming out of its shell. Long and lovely. ****

Disgorged 01/2018. Pale color, orange as much as pink. White peach, fresh strawberry, and graham cracker on the mid palate. The finish was long, with alternating waves of saltiness and fruit. Perfectly balanced, so delicious. I dare you to not love this wine.

"Running" Club Nouveau et Ancien Monde; 2/24/2022-2/25/2022 (La Trompette): Pale pink. On the nose - a hint of apple. Thoroughly lovely - i'll hold onto the rest of my bottles for a little while but this is a top notch drink. We saved half of the mag to serve with the pudding and cheese - definitely seemed to have opened up (although my palate was ever so slightly tired by that stage...).

Very light pink hue. Nose of fresh strawberry, citrus, floral notes. Spritely and elegant at the same time, with layers of flinty red raspberry, strawberry, and white peach on the palate. Amidst the fizz the quality of the wine came through. Fine showing.

The first thing that comes into my mind smelling this is: elegance. Wild raspberries, fresh lemon juice, wild strawberries, rhubarb and cherries are there on the nose.
Young, tight but giving on the palate with wild strawberries, peach and lemon juice. So elegant and so tightly built. A more of a "in the middle" rosé between regular rosé and white. Stylistically pure and just what I expected from Louis Roederer.

Nothing wrong with this, but I thought it was pretty flat in both the aromas and flavor. The fruit is bland and the slight bitterness in the flavor obscured whatever charm it might have had. Not a rebuy for me.

Beautiful rose color with a touch of orange. Aromas of ripe wild strawberries, rose petals and minerals. A very lively, fine mousse. Very juicy and intense fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Still very youthful but complex and long on the palate. This elegant and delicious Champagne is a very good value.

There are some light notes of red fruit on the nose, while the palate is more expressive, with high notes of peach, strawberry and a bit of ginger. This could use some time to develop. Light pastry notes on the finish. In the Berkshires.

More or less the same experience as my last bottle. Still green apples and strawberries. A clear toasty note can be added this time. Extraordinary balance for sure and a dense structure. Still a 93, but close to 94. A wine that clearly confirms that 2012 is a fantastic vintage, right op there with 08 and 02.

Delightful experience. It's drinking quite well at this point, but can clearly be saved to. The mousse is very fine, the acidity medium+, but perfectly integrated. It delivers green apple, strawberry and an underlying minerality. The overall balance is very good and the aftertaste quite long.

Generously brought to dinner by a friend, alongside the 2008 of the same wine. Served half-blind alongside the 2008.
Fine mousse. Intially a bit closed with lots of mineral and a touch of bitter grapefruit on the finish. Opens up considerably over several hours. Fruit is peach, light red berries, apple and quince. God cut to the lively acidity. Chalk and steel. Long. Very nice.
Initially I prefered the 2008 as it was smoother and better integrated but towards the end of the evening this was the better wine. Needs time.

Lovely vintage rose. Very fresh with rose petal and strawberry notes on the nose with a bit of citrus as well. Similar flavors on the palate with a crisp mouthfeel and fine mousse and then smooth finish. A delicious champagne and truthfully worth the vintage price tag.

Udda doft men smaken helt annorlunda.

Drank a 375ml bottle. Nice light blush color with a very slight orange cast. Bubbles lasted 90+ minutes. Yeast, brioche, green melon on the nose. Raspberry and citrus on the palate. Nice acidity. Not much complexity. Right after opening, the raspberry overwhelmed, but mellowed with air. May serve best as an aperitif or with a chocolate dessert with raspberry sauce, but would be hard to pair with most foods.

A nice rose champagne, but not as complex as I would have hoped. I drank the wine over the course of two days, and I noticed a slight improvement on day two. The dosage supposedly is 9 gms/l, but is still is quite astringent, despite what is a relatively high dosage,at least for my palate. I tend to prefer grower champagne like Bereche’s rose. However, it is at a higher price point.
Bu en succ. Cher mais de très belles bulles. Super vineux et dense, belle acidité et vivacité. Du pamplemousse rose, de la mie de pain des fraises et du silex pour aller avec les bulles bien fines et en grand nombre. Excellent.

At first glance the color is amazing it’s a sunset orange to copper. The aromatics are pleasing with slight brioche, ripe juicy fruit like strawberry, cherry, and raspberry with slight minerality. Young and refreshing. Juicy tart cherry, strawberry, and citrus rind on the palate. Solid champagne that’s worth a try.

Highly refreshing, bright fresh lemon, grapefruit and charming red berries mingling with a touch of minerality and hint of savoury. There is a certain level of tension in mid palate making it a more precise young rose. Forward and delicious.

Rusty pink/orange/onion skin colour Soft rose note, then salty and mealy, sort of hawthorne? Subtle, with mellow red fruits. Surprisingly full and broad, yet sinewy. Pretty savoury and serious, with a structured core. all very fine and precise and impeccably balanced. Long and fruity finish.
when comparing the 2012s together: White is richer, with notes of pâté, lemon and toast. Rose is softer, sweeter and prettier with a more pronounced floral character, but also plenty of savoury elements on the palate.

(Disgorged in 2016, 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, dosage 9 gr/lit) Pale salmon pink colour with an endless stream of very fine bubbles bursting on the surface that open up an explosion of wonderful red berries and fresh baked bread on the nose before opening up with some hints of licorice and hazelnuts to show what will come. Still driven by freshness on the palate with red berries and minerals in a lighter style with more fruitiness than usual but with the same elegant and lengthy finish as always. This was a very positive showing and I’m glad I’ve kept it an extra year in the cellar for it to integrate better. This very nice already, but should become even better in a few years! (Probably best 2017-2032)

Soft orange coloration in the Tulip shaped glass, nose of strawberry and cream, ripe Pinot Noir Burgundy style, slate, green apple, and nectarine, same on the palate, medium body, very tasty, delicious mouthful of fruit that helped you to conclude this is elegant and needs three years in the cellar to peak drinking window, showing good complexity, and a long finish and wonderful aftertaste. Very pale orange hue of a seared salmon. Dry and savory nose with moderately toasty aromas of spicy Pinosity, roasted nuts, some earthy tones, a little bit of smoke and a hint of tart red fruit. The wine is dry, tangy and quite toasty on the palate with flavors of green apples, some tart citrus fruits, light autolytic toffee and toast character, a little bit of lingonberries and a hint of steely minerality. Towards the aftertaste rises a faint lactic nuance of strawberry yoghurt. The mousse is very soft, smooth and creamy, whereas the acidity feels very structured and racy. The dry finish is long, mineral and mouth-cleansing with bright flavors of green apples, mealy red apples, some mineral chalky bitterness, a little bit of leesy yeast charcter and a hint of nutty autolysis.
An impressive, structured and already nicely toasty rosé Champ with lovely focus and purity. Although pretty enjoyable already, the wine is still extremely youthful and also shows quite a bit of cellaring potential. I wouldn't touch the wine for the next few years but instead let it accumulate some further depth, complexity and toasty character in my cellar. As the wine doesn't feel particularly big nor overwhelming, this is quite gastronimic in style, although it still drinks beautifully right on its own. A bit pricey at 72,95€, though.

Lovely bright acidity. Very floral and citrus-y. Delicious, but best closer to room temp and with an hour of air. Great with the hackleback caviar we had.

Light salmon color, bubbles disappear quickly. Nose waxy, red berries. Palate fresh red berries, delicate flavor with some richness, nice acidity, good minerality. Enjoyable and great balance but did wish for some more complexity. Could see it gaining more weight with bottle age. 90 pts for now

Rusty pink/orange/onion skin colour
Soft rose note, then salty and mealy, sort of hawthorne? Subtle, with mellow red fruits.
Surprisingly full and broad, yet sinewy. Pretty savoury and serious, with a structured core. all very fine and precise and impeccably balanced. Long and fruity finish.
when comparing the 2012s together:
White is richer, with notes of pâté, lemon and toast.
Rose is softer, sweeter and prettier with a more pronounced floral character, but also plenty of savoury elements on the palate.

Champagne Rose exploration 2018: 🏅 Rating: 92/100 (4,2⭐)
Very light colored almost white wine. Sugar powder over ripe red berries and white flowers. Smooth on the palate with exceptional freshness and chalky minerality. Finesse and elegance, more like a white wine.
This 2012 Millésime is PN driven with 63% and 37% Chardonnay. Quarter of the wines was vinified in oak.

(Disgorged in 2016, 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, dosage 9 gr/lit)
Pale salmon pink colour with an endless stream of very fine bubbles bursting on the surface that open up an explosion of wonderful red berries and fresh baked bread on the nose before opening up with some hints of licorice and hazelnuts to show what will come.

From a 375ml bottle, a lovely mousse formed from the large amount of fine bubbles throughout the evening. Absolutely worth the $33 paid for the auction 375ml bottle.
