Quite deep colour; muffled bouquet; some tannin, 'chocolatey, good depth, rich. More 'Morey' (some said Gevrey) than Chambolle. Very long. Time in hand. Lacks her normal ethereal style.

Decanted for 3 hours before we got to it. Initially it was deeply intense red fruit. some baking spice, sous bois, but definitely all about the beautiful fruit. Structure is present, but silky and long, not abrasive at all. Another hour or so and some sweet stems started to show, as it turns towards a darker fruit profile. Love the producer.

4/5

Very floral on the nose with purple flowers, blueberries, raspberries, cinnamon, and oak. The oak was quite strong at this stage, but still accessible now. Palate was smooth and silky. Much better than 07 and 11. Give it a few more years for the oak to integrate.

This wine gets you excited at first sniff and sip, yet it turns monolithic as time passes. Perfumed, fruity, still lovely for its level but pricey.
