Drank this 4 years ago and boy how well it’s evolved. I believe this is how good a champagne can be at this price level. A extremely powerful marzipan and toast on the nose and palate. Still a biting acidity in a good way. After a while in the glass lots of red apples, lime and pineapple appears. The balance of the champagne is almost perfection. I believe this will be even better in 4-10 years. The mousse is Good with quick small bubbles. I love this champagne and wish I had more then the 4 bottles in my cellar.

Stands out as mature, perhaps still some way to go, however this really shines at the moment. The mineral footprint is exquisite, good length and the acid backbone is solid yet in balance. This is great to consume now or for a long time going forward. Paired with proper food this will shine even more.

No disgorgement date or dosage listed on label/cork; online research suggests 4 g/L dosage, which is within range for this extra brut wine. Potent lemon curd flavors at first, with apples, pears, and a hint of honeycomb lurking in support. After about 5-10 minutes of air time, this wine is focused and tasty. Quick, precise finish that belies the relatively low dosage. Reminds me of a vintage Pinot Meunier in its balance of orchard fruit and austere, clean finish. Refreshing and quite enjoyable.

Pale yellow, bright. Very fine beading. The nose is complex and nicely perfumed, with lemon, apple and some hints of spice and honey. Palate: concentrated but elegant and refined, with fresh acidity and nice texture. Great long finish. Sometimes I find Blanc de Blancs a bit sharp, perhaps with too much acidity. That's not the case here, with everything in great balance and with great precision. Excellent. I agree with the community drinking window, okay now but I'd leave it another 5-8 years.

Light gold color, tiny and somewhat sparse bubbles. Medium-intense nose that reminds me of being in a Dutch bakery, with lemon tarts and peach pies. The palate is rich and delicious, like just about everyone else says here, and the fantastic acidic spine doesn't let up through the nice long finish. Already showing the character and depth of nicely aged bubbly and a tangible step up from the $30-$50 tier of champers. 4+13+17+9= 93

Light golden colour, hint of lees/yeast on the nose (positive). Starting to get some age. Forward fruit on the nose, but not too much. Excellent creamy texture in the mouth, well balanced, good acidity and good weight. Drunk alone, but should be fantastic with food. Will last a decade (at least).

Damn, I didn't remember what this was and didn't read my own tasting note. While fantastic now, this is a wine that would have been nice to lay down and open every five years for decades. Fairly dark yellow for an oh-eight champagne, but full of verve and youth. Creamy lemon and orange, white flowers, great minerality. Lithe but full bodied from start to finish. I made a big mistake only buying four, and a bigger one by opening two so early. The real deal, a tete-de-cuvée.

This one has for sure put on some weight since tasted from own cellar 14 months ago, particularly on the nose and back end. Apples, slightly confitted citrus, light flowers, lovely autolytics and yeast on the nose. Great concentration and complexity on the palate also, perhaps a bit more candied fruit. Lovely finish. 93-94p. I will adjust drinking window for my own bottles from now +5 years.

Neighbors and I are enjoying a good taste tonight. I decided to open one to see where it stands, and I am now kicking myself for not buying more. I agree with others (From early Nov) that this one would benefit from aging. I would say though that it already 'lives' well within what I'm expecting from an aging bubbly: More on the dry side, golden color. Long long bubbles, big floral with citrus and some honey (think early spring in Reims), well balance palate with slight lemon, floral and a touch of the yeast and apples. Yes, this one tastes well above its price range. Hence, the 'self kicking'. Four may have been a short purchase. Medium and getting longer finish. Great QPR.
At the time the note is written the 'ct crowd' gave it consistently 92.1. I think it is a slight under estimate.
Postscript 12-16-2018: The neighbors decided the wine is too good to let it sit in our house another day. So, they came and helped me finish it a day later. I would say that it tasted better than day one. A real 93++ for what a single number applies, but basically-- all that was available on day one on the nose and palate was bigger and better. Finish got longer. Floral lasted longer. I'd decant if I open it over the next 12-24 months

The base wine is aged partially in barriques. No MLF. Aged for a minimum of 6 years in bottles with the lees before disgorgement. 12% alcohol, 5,6 g/l acidity (not sure whether indicated in tartaric or sulphuric), dosage 4 g/l. Tasted blind.
Medium deep yellow color. Ripe, nuanced and attractive nose with a fascinating array of aromas ranging from subtle nuttiness, sweet autolytic brioche and delicate smoke to notes of bruised aples, light citrus marmalade character, hints of wet stones and a leesy, yeasty touch of freshly baked French bread. The wine is firm and intense yet gentle and delicate on the palate with rich, lively and almost bone-dry flavors of roasted nuts, ripe red apples, some toasty autolytic bread character, a little bit of smoke, a hint of steely minerality and a touch of zesty lemony fruit. The wine is moderately high in acidity with firm, creamy and quite persistent mousse. The finish is long, crisp and mineral with more youthful, piercing notes of lemony citrus fruits, tart green apples, some toasty autolysis, light hints of slivered almonds, a hint of steely minerality and a touch of cream.
A very lovely, complex and captivating Champagne that combines wonderfully that tangy, acid-driven Blanc de Blancs character to a subtly oxidative style, without any overt oak overtones. Although the wine is nigh 10 years old, it is still very bright, youthful and obviously more about promise than current enjoyability. A lovely fusion of mineral restraint and hedonistic richness - although very enjoyable at the moment, I'm fairly certain this wine will continue to improve at least for the next 10 years. Great stuff and although not particularly affordable at 71,92€, the wine is still priced somewhat according to its quality.

20 mins before the nose opened up. Light brioche, ripe lemons, yellow apples, slate and yeast. Typical fruit expression for the vintage. Quite bright yellow fruits, some crushed rocks. Really good balance. Not sure if this is really for the long haul, but quite a treat today. Great pairing to young stilton. 92-93p.

In my last note in 2020 I suggested leaving it another 5-8 years. I only lasted 3 but this is drinking very well now - glad I didn't wait longer.
Appearance: bright, mid gold, slight straw tinge. Fine beading.
Nose: Intense and complex. Stone fruits, some restrained citrus and baked bread notes, cashews, a little spice and whiff of smoke.
Palate: rich mouthfeel. Marzipan, stonefruits, hint of honey and toast. Good acidity for its age. Well balanced. Lingering finish. Excellent.

Great stuff and although not particularly affordable at 71,92€, the wine is still priced somewhat according to its quality.

2008s tasting at Björkkulla.
One of the favourites - top 2 by everyone. A very, very nice BdB with good balance already.

My fav wine of the night. Lots of depth and biscuity goodness but still tangy and vibrant.

Pear and apple, fine finish, minerals, good body, most intense, lots of mousse, long, good maturity to the fruit. Very finely balanced.
