Slowly developing aromas of black tea and fresh lavender florals. Raspberry, red-toned fruits and sweet plum on the palate. Light to medium-bodied, medium-low acid and light tannins. Flavors are coming together nicely; more harmonious than they were 12 months ago. Went well with Cuban food.

Inviting nose, with floral notes. Sweet, ripe fruit on palate, leather, licorice. Lively acidity and barely noticeable tannins. This is a pleasant wine, good with food, on the simple side and probably not going to improve at this point.

A mature dry tempranillo from Rioja Baja, at the very eastern border of the appellation. Color a bit lighter than expected, but that lightness did not extend to the body which was rich and full. At 8 years old, it is exhibiting the more mature flavors of dry leather and woody notes, in addition to the usual dark fruits. The finish was wonderfully long and makes a glass go a long way! All-in-all, a good tempranillo in a very good spot.

Nice rioja in a perfect window purchased from wtso. Notes of dried cranberry, red licorice and touch of cigar box notes. In the mouth, medium bodied, nice balance and finish. Has some tannin left so should hold here for a few years, before it hits the backside of its peak. A pleasure to drink!

Medium cherry red with clear rim. Bouquet is closed at the moment with just a hint of red cherry and violets. On the palate there are plenty of mature red fruit flavours, very light oaking and fine grained tannins. Quite well developed with good balance and a deep, rich finish.

much better than previous bottle with well integrated fuit and tannins. Not huge for a Reserva, but full bodied and very approachable now. Plum and black fruit flavors with some leather and hints of forest floor that provide a nice contrast.

N: oak, cherry, black fruit, a typical Rioja with oaky aromas
T: cherry, black cherry, tobacco, oak, vanilla, cloves. Not bad, not great. A good middle of the road Rioja.
I had worried it might be passed it’s best after registering it on cellar tracker - but it’s still good. Maybe only a few more years though.

Woodsy, dried berry, vanilla and cocoa nose. Evolving, med-bodied palate; moderate acidity; long, sweet-spiced finish.
3.5/5

Rally drinking well, with soft, but not flabby tannin. Deep color and well balanced mix of earth, spice, and fruit. Probably at it's peak.

Fragrant nose. Rustic berry character with coffee undertones and sweet cherry on the finish. Perhaps a bit too acid. Faded 4-5 hours after opening.

Very much what I expected from a Rioja Reserva around $25. Smooth, mature, no rough edges, well balanced, good concentration.
