Started off too cold, from restaurant’s cellar, showing minerals and tart lemon/lime; with some air, nutmeg, apple, and pear revealed themselves. No evidence of oak. Went perfectly with baked arctic char. From wine list at Beano’s Cabin (Beaver Creek).

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Oak is perfect at the end, from someone who detests too much oak. Clear color matches the clear tastes on the palate. Everything is in harmony right now, with just the right amount of vanilla.

Very solid overall. Showed a little oak, but wasn't too big. Could have used a bit more acidity and/or energy for my tastes. Maybe better a little more chilled.

Pop and pour. In the glass, pale, clear yellow. On the nose, a mix of oak and floral notes. On the palate, clean, elegant, and light, with apples, oak, and a hint of saline minerality on a smooth and moderately long finish.

Perfume, lemon, cream, lemon rind, lees, bitter almonds. Good cut and acidity. To my palate, less California and more Burgundian. Tight, needs time. Well made, won't open for a few more years. May get better w time and as components integrate.

Wines with Lunch (Prairie Grass - Northbrook IL): Really enjoyable already at this stage, but lots of potential going forward. Floral start is great, with some rich, buttery character with roasted almonds and ripe apple, very Meursault-like. Came across as more ripe, less fresh as it sat in glass and got warmer, but seemed very energetic when 50F or colder.

Solid Chardonnay, Burgundian in style, some leesy yeasty notes, but otherwise delicious citrus fruits, creamy texture, medium finish.

What an excellent wine. Medium body, golden fruit and enough verve to keep it interesting

Rich apple and marzipan flavor but with a racy acidic finish. California in style but with a touch of Gallic in there. Very good.

Beautiful balance of fruit and acidity; a lemon curd scent; hint of oak but held in check. Somewhere between Burgundy and California. Like this a lot.

Big rich California chardonnay with nice crispness and long finish. Really needs a food pairing to show its best.
