Work tasting and dinner (Home): Starts with a sense of vanilla and oak. Warm butter, a touch of toasted hazelnut, relatively broad on the palate, lacks some finesse. Inevitably a little flabby alongside a super Chablis. Holds well enough though and there’s enough to like, but could do with a little more energy. ***

Mid straw. Some warm butter richness on the nose. Similar on palate with a classic buttery and slightly hazelnutty profile, mid weight and then a nicely limey cut and line to the finish. Classic Meursault. Lovely now. ***1/2

This is showing very nicely. The same mid palate touch of gras that a bottle last spring showed, but a little more focus to give a nicely mineral line on the finish. A bridge between modern and old school Meursault. Ready. ***1/2

Mid to full straw. A touch of butter on the nose. Mid weight, typical Meursault. very pleasant, just lacking some of the verve and excitement of a Javellier Tete de Cuvee last month. ***1/2

Wow. This is my idea of a perfect Meursault. Oak on the nose and clear oak on the palate, but the weight of fruit and the cleansing citric acidity make this a wonderfully balanced wine that hits the spot for me completely. Delicious now and I am sure it will hold for some time, but this is absolutely brilliant, so don’t waste time wondering. Get your best friends round now and treat them.....

not in absolute top form this wine had a kind of dusty expression covering for the fruit which is otherwise light, precise and well-balanced. Not a huge wine but enjoyable for what it is.

A very solid wine and definitely better than the village tag would have one expect. Very lemony, good fruit, medium bodied, light touch of oak, good minerality and definitely not an uber fat meursault in style. Quite restrained and elegant and granted it lacks depth and length this was very enjoyable. Solid 90

An absolute delight tonight. Drinking at its peak now, to my taste, and drink over the coming year or so...

Gentle, smooth, but with sufficient character, pure and friendly proportioned with vanilla and good wood; perfect with cod, tomatoes and zucchini.

Another bottle where tasty well judged oak marries beautifully with clean Burgundian fruit. A real success.
