Work tasting and dinner (Home): Starts with a sense of vanilla and oak. Warm butter, a touch of toasted hazelnut, relatively broad on the palate, lacks some finesse. Inevitably a little flabby alongside a super Chablis. Holds well enough though and there’s enough to like, but could do with a little more energy. ***

Mid straw. Some warm butter richness on the nose. Similar on palate with a classic buttery and slightly hazelnutty profile, mid weight and then a nicely limey cut and line to the finish. Classic Meursault. Lovely now. ***1/2

This is showing very nicely. The same mid palate touch of gras that a bottle last spring showed, but a little more focus to give a nicely mineral line on the finish. A bridge between modern and old school Meursault. Ready. ***1/2

It has lasted up till now in great condition. Still going strong and an absolute delight. Surely you should drink it over the next year or so….

An absolute delight tonight. Drinking at its peak now, to my taste, and drink over the coming year or so...
