2 bottles through dinner. Pnp through one of this gadget spouts and this is drinking very well. Somewhat modern cab style with well integrated tannins.

trying to taste all 2013 since wine critic says they should be ready. Not bad, very fresh berry and med tannin. need to decant or open the bottle 2 hour ahead

Even after five days of standing upright in my cellar (well, it's a garage really), the wine threw vast quantities of sediment when it was decanted. I simply couldn't see through the colour: a wall of ink. Some bright tones on the nose of lovely blackcurrant, but the taste was cloudy, and with suggestions of oxidisation. If you have any of these wines in your cellar (or garage), I would drink them now. Or perhaps not at all.

On pourrait dire élégant & subtil...

Bordeaux UGC 2013 (Singapore): Ruby, a lighter and more red fruited style similar to Domaine de Chevalier in the same vintage however this has brighter fruit and is much more elegant and balanced. Herbal nose, fine tannins. Well done and good for drinking now. 91-92

This blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc produced a medium bodied, red fruit, dominated wine with dusty tannins. Forward in style, the finish mixes sweet and tart, spicy, earthy, red berries.

Union Des Grands Crus de Bordeaux San Francisco. Nose of simple, ripe, dark fruit, dusty earth, and brewed tea leaves, more of the same on the palate, simple, lacks depth, light/medium body, disappointing, lots of soft tannins on a short/medium finish, at $58-no way.

Filled with tart berries, tilled earth and signature Gruaud funk, this is a light footed wine that falls short, along with almost all 2013 wines that I have sampled so far. However, this has a brutally long finish and lots of structure to go with it. Sure its tight, its supposed to be...Its a newborn baby! Should it be soft, fat and flabby? drink or HOLD

UGC 2016 (Chicago, IL): Dirt! This is one of the most rustic wines of the tasting, with earthy and barnyard notes, as well as very coarse tannins. Lovely acids here, but the wine does come across a touch light.

Currant, cherry, toast, humus, mineral, and olive nose. Elegant, and harmonious palate with very good complexity and integration.

Excellent ! Mais le 2012 de loins supérieur ! Tanins pointus. Moins fruité. Plus d’astringence. Moins de longueur en bouche.

The least representative of this chateau I've had. Forward and simple. Red fruited without the earth and funk and gravel. This won't make old bones.

UGC Bordeaux Tasting - 2013 Vintage (Bentley Reserve, SF): Very good. Well integrated aromatics. A bit tight but a satisfying palate. A great picture of 2013. Ripe but light with good firm but chewy tannins. Between 8.5 and 9.
