Dark clear bright garnet color. Intense cassis, fresh blackberries, and sweet pipe tobacco on the nose. Tasting notes are largely congruent with the addition of fairly strong wood that reveals itself in the finish. Quite nice, and just beginning to enter its drinking window with another decade or so to go, easy.

Did not need to decant. It was ready to drink within a couple minutes of opening the bottle. As we have consistently seen with the 2011's from Napa, once they hit 10 years old, they are tasting wonderful. It is absolutely ready to drink right now, and do not see any benefit to further aging.

Started drinking just a few minutes after opening. Did not notice much difference over the next hour. While I read a recent review that talked about how the wine changed after 3 hours, our bottle did not last anywhere near that long. Once again, we are really liking how the 2011 Napa cabernets are drinking after close to 10 years aging. Tannins have completely softened. Extremely smooth and easy to drink. It is not a big and bold wine with a lot going on, so it does not need strong food to complement it. So, more so with this wine, what one thinks about it has a lot to do with one's personal preferences. Half the table really loved it, and half the table preferred a Howell Mountain wine with more going on.
The next to last bottle of '11 Napa wine in my cellar......and actually, it may be one of the better ones. Can be had from the pnp with surprisingly still lively fruit, mostly red. Give it 3 hours of air and it adds weight and glide in the mouth. The acidity is still there in the wings and it says this wine can go longer and the dark red/black fruit can probably keep up with it, but who knows for how long? Tannins are softening and integrating but still a ittle chewy. Some orange rind on the nose at 3 hours and a touch of tobacco on the palate. My last one of these, better than the last bottle in 2017.
A very vegetal/herbal note to it that was likely more reminiscent of the vintage. Mid palate was a little short/flat. Did improve somewhat over a couple of hours. All in all we enjoyed the wine with some rib steaks on the BBQ but were not overly impressed and definitely wasn't hitting near its price point.
Nice earthy nose that I love. Nice mid with just enough sharp tannins. A little fruit on the finish. I'll drink another real soon to see if they may be fading.
Very pretty, almost neon, medium rose-red. Needed 90 minutes to open. Wild strawberries and ripe red cherries on the delicious nose. Extremely smooth texture. Delicious strawberry and blood orange notes, reminds me of certain Barolos. A tiny bit of diluted lemon zest in the finish. Umami-replete finish. Sings with energy. So delicious.

Just Ok for a Georges de Latour....a bit weak on fruit and power but for 2011 in Napa a decent drink. Not sure it's worth the pricepoint but they did discount heavily on release, about half the normal price. Nice black/red fruit, smooth texture, medium plus mouth feel, medium length finish.

Huge aromas of leaves and tobacco, it got better and better as the night got old. Only a few drops in the glass and the nose was amazing. Hard to believe from a bad vintage.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis) and oak. It tastes like red currant, black pepper, plum and mushroom. The body is full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Rated much higher on day 2. Medium bodied with bright cherry, vanilla, and oak. Can't stress enough how much time improved this wine (texture and concentration of flavors).

dark rasinated nose, prune, toasty old oak, palate is more vibrant, vanilla, finish is a little off. This is fine now but I don't see this holding up over time.

With its oaky, cherry filled nose, medium body and tart finish, I suppose come lovers of old school Cabernet Sauvignon will rave it about. I'm not buying tickets to the rave.

Not nearly as good as the last bottle. Good in all aspects, just not great, like I expected

Nice, if not slightly muted, Napa cab. I'm not sure its equivalent to the price paid, but it paired well with a filet and brussel sprouts.

This developed well after 30 mins in the glass. Popped and poured a few bottles at Capital Grille.
Light muted nose. Dark chocolate body with integrated tannins (7.5/10)
Full bodied and as usual a Napa cab with a french bordeaux style but still Napa.
