Big, sweet and rich. Full bodied, unctuous mouthfeel. Ripe yellow peach, hints of molasses and vanilla. Long, with some complexity. Drinking well now, still primary, no caramel. Will become more tertiary going forward.

Really excellent tonight almost immediately after opening with lots of rich, decadent, green and yellow orchard fruit, baking spice and marzipan undertones and just enough acidity to keep the long finish bright and lively. There’s plenty of depth and concentration here. Delicious!!

This was exceptional tonight with rich, decadent, unctuous, green and tropical fruit, honey suckle, lots of baking spice and a firm minerality at its core. This is a big, rich wine that was drinking well almost immediately after opening.

Chapoutier Whites: Tonight this was beautiful with lots of rich, unctuous stone fruit flavors along with white flowers, baking spice and a firm minerally core. There's also a fairly prominent oak presence. All in all, quite delicious, but almost painfully young.

Visit to Maison Chapoutier Cellar Door Shop (Tain l'Hermitage): Pale gold. Lemon zest, stone fruit, almonds, hazelnuts, marzipan, vanilla. Developing. Dry, medium (+) acidity, high alcohol, full body, pronounced flavours - marzipan, pineapple, honey, mineral, long finish. Outstanding, already drinking well, but no doubt will improve with time.

Visit to the Chapoutier shop in Tain, Hermitage, France: Very beautiful and concentrated, luxurious bouquet with ripe yellow fruits and luxurious oak. Same on the palate. A very beautiful, luxurious and full bodied wine with lovely soft but fresh acidity.

Consumed over two days. Powerful aromas of crushed pineapple, ripe mango, river-stones, jasmine, honey and a hint of banana. Powerful, but incredibly disciplined on the palate: subtle, tropical fruits, (over)ripe white peaches, and quince jelly are balanced by an energetic, nervous acidity and fine minerality. Everything is exactly as it should be. The equilibrium is extraordinary, even if I must confess that I drank this a little young. Though the wine is unctuous, full-bodied, and ripe, there isn't a hint of sweetness. This is dry, tight, and elegant. It is virtually immortal.
This could do well with food - white meat rather than fish: veal or roast goose.

Steven Spurrier master class. A bit leaner, shorter, simpler, less balanced than Ermite Blanc.
