Superbe. Le nez est large et complexe. Idem en bouche, encore costaud, belle allonge, à laisser dormir en cave encore qqs années. Revoir en 2025. 92-93

This has really tightened up in the last 2 years and now shows a piercing acidity that works beautifully with the fruit. Give this some air to spread out and it really rewards with some liqourice, cherries and fine tannins. Mid weight - excellent with richer pasta sauce.

Medium bodied and fairly light in extract but excessively marked by new oak. Not necessarily bad but very little typicity and the finish is obliterated by dry tannins. Does this integrate and become something interesting? I don’t know, but I like their unoaked basic cuvée much better.

Aromas of Asian spice, soy sauce, red fruits, and vanilla on the nose. I won’t flat out disagree with those who say that there is too much new oak, but I think it was used to great effect. On the palate, the tannins are a little bit drying, but overall this wine was a bargain at $35. After two hours, the tannins dominate and it closes down. Very Burgundian, and will reward an additional 5 years of cellaring, but if you open now, don’t wait too long to drink.

The wine is still young and tightly coiled, the fruit aromatic profile is clearly "sudiste" with ripe, dark fruits. No excessive extraction, so the wine is medium-bodied and appears balanced at this stage, except for a slight alcohol burn in mid-palate that to me at least is a default. I preferred older vintages of this wine which didn't show this and maybe showed also greater finesse in the fruit aromatics.

Red fruits and leather / oak on the nose. Good intensity, but I am afraid some of it comes from intense use of oak. Dry and very tannic finish. Modern style.

Well, this is a little beauty that sneaks up on you - all that character, quality and class wrapped up in a bargain £25 bottle of wine. It does lack some structure - all soft tannins and approachable fruit right now - and the fruit is quite sweet so I'm not sure it'll make old bones. What sits in the glass is pretty impressive though - floral red fruit with some liquorice and cranberry and some wet stone action.

A stunning Etna Rosso from top producers Terre Nere. This 2012 boasts of profound red fruits like strawberry, red currant and very expressive fresh cherry. Adding to the nose is the lovely tones of lava and other wet minerals. Together with the fruit these secondary tones are simply adorable. The palate follows through very nicely and is completely integrated. The primary fruit and the complexity makes this very young wine a totally stunning food companion. I am totally impressed! (score is 91+)

Red fruit, drying finish. Kind of one-dimensional, and a bit alcoholic. Good but not distinguished.
