Suprise…the other hit of Thanksgiving, served w/ dinner w/ another red. Opened 1 hour prior. This was the favorite red by far for most. Nose is reminiscent of my smoker, smoked wine!…we all thought would be heavy in the mouth. Quite the opposite, med verging to light, no smoke taste at all, so calm and smooth from aged integration, and in such a great place right now. Stellar bottle from cellar to share at Turkey time!

This shares some common traits with the VV but it is the deepest, darkest night. The fruit gets darker, towards the black currant, blackberry end of the spectrum and there is a distinct turned dark earth and leather note but it is the endless fruit on the finish that really captivates. I love the feel on the palate. It picks up a slight hint of violets on the nose. Really profound Morgon that I'd prefer to drink now as opposed to when it goes pinote.

As others already noted, very drinkable right now; still deep fruited, with fine tannin, and good acidity. Went well on the first day with grilled chicken, asparagus, and mushrooms. I preferred the slight richness and the lithe acidity it developed on on the second day a bit more. Bought from a secondary source earlier this year.

Drinking very well- rich, baking spices, deep fruit, very Morgon, just softer and harmonious. My first of a case, but not sure there's much reason to hold back on these.

My last bottle of this was tight and restrained but not this one. Almost immeasurably deep and the structure seems to have come around. Really a point. I think this may be a one-off from really old (like 120 years old or something) vines. In no danger of falling off a cliff, but so good now it deserves to be drank.

LA rookies reunited: decanted. Opaque dark violet color. Nose a bit closed, some spice, mostly grapey. Palate candied, a coolness to the fruit, nice tart acidity. Enjoyable and probably at peak, but not the most complex Bojo -- wonder if it suffered from decanting, as it didn't seem as an enjoyable as a bottle tasted a few months prior. 88 pts

BT+E, 3rd: Light transparent cloudy ruby. Nose slightly wild, cherries. Palate iron, fresh red cherry flavor. Overall impression is of a fresh, eminently drinkable and pleasurable wine, the essence of youngish gamay. 92 pts

Deep nose of mature dark berries, violets, dark stones, herbs. Sandy fine tannins, a bit developed on the palate with mature fruit and round acidity. Drinks well. First time for me but according to a friend this bottle was a bit further developed than previous bottles. High quality Beaujolais, as always from this producer.

Great beaujolais! A little disjointed at first, with more resemblance with mature nebbiolo from a warm vintage than gamay. With air the wine gains balance and gamay and Morgon charachter. Amazing nose with great depth. Meaty and quite mature fruit, with quite warm feeling, nicely balanced by fresh acidity and very pronounced minerality. Silky mouthfeel and long, and very nice finish.
As a relative nouveau, if you'll pardon the expression, to bojo -- especially bojo with age -- I didn't know quite what to expect here, and I'm sure I lack the proper vocabulary to articulate the experience, but this wine had been highly recommended to me by someone "in the know".
When I opened it before dinner I couldn't get much aromatically, so I poured a tiny shot glass. It smelled and tasted much like most of the rather pedestrian gamay I have had previously. There was also an effervescence to it, and frankly I wasn't sure whether that was an asset or liability.
An hour or two later, with a simple burger, something quite different emerged. The fizz and tension were completely gone, and we were presented with a really beautiful wine. More cherry/cherry vanilla than the sometimes tart rasberry I had expected, the wine had a silky mouthfeel and was amazingly long. The label says 13% abv, but it felt much lighter. This wine went down faster than...well, let's just say it was emptied by three of us very quickly.
I kept trying to place it in some sort of context as the glasses quickly disappeared. I am probably overstating just a bit, but it reminded me of a cross between a 15-20 yr-old vosne romanee and a 25+ yr-old Musar. A bit of spice and funk -- but lighter -- and in a silky long package.
The way it evolved so quickly, I'm not quite prepared to call it one to stash away for decades. But who cares?

After all those Nouveaux these wines seem from a remote region rather than the same place. Served by the glass. New wood still suffocates the concentration and vigour of this wine supposedly coming from centuries-old vines. It leaves me quite cold right now.

Still all youthful, with deep blue-toned fruit. Firm yet fine tannic structure with the mouthfeel of ground rocks. Although not closed, this is a real keeper that should develop well for at least ten years.

Gorgeous nose of black earth, stalks, violets and blood plum. The fruit is dense and creamy and hangs in the mouth for an impossibly long time before some breezy acid kicks in. It is long, slinky and slurpy but deadly serious with the propensity to age.

This is seriously good. A calm even, cool nose of cherry and raspberry fruit and all sorts of geological matter. Work a bit of air into the wine and you get some engaging florals. It is deep but not forced or manipulated. The finish is tart and crunchy.

My first introduction to the wines of Descombes and what a treat. This is brilliant stuff, dark and brooding, structured but layered with the most velvet like texture. Unlike a lot of the other Morgons which are pleasant this is a serious wine.

看了下面的评论,希望挺高。结果差一些。aged的有点快,水果有皮诺的影子。第二天,更差。

Fantastic from the opening. Nose of cherries and a little spice. Taste is plenty of cherry, very fine tannins with good finish. Soft mouthfeel.
