  • Light golden color. Beautifully balanced on sweetness and acidity. Peach, honey, syrup aromas and flavors. Petroleum aroma as well.

  • Prior bottle was two years and two months ago and my notes were very consistent. White peach, lots of tropical notes, floral qualities and touch of honey on the nose. Between medium and full bodied with white, almost crystalline peach upfront, moving to beautiful white tropical (pineapple and mango) through the middle. As the wine warms, it turns more and more golden in fruit expression and the true depth of the mid-body starts to be revealed. The richness and density are both quite impressive and yet are still neatly balanced by the excellent acidity as well as tart orange, tart lemon and other citrus notes. There are honey notes through the middle, but as I purposely served this wine a bit cooler, they weren't as prominent as my immediately prior bottle. I really enjoyed the interplay between the rich white/gold fruit notes and the acidity and tart qualities - truly made for an exciting wine. As well as it showed tonight, this wine is still a baby with many years ahead of it.

  • A.P. 25770500614 Oh man, just way too early to open this, but I am not sure that I will be around when this is ready to go. Regardless, still such a delicious and young Riesling. FH may be my favorite producer and this did not disappoint. A massive citrus driven nose wafts of lemon, pineapple, mango, peach, grapefruit, and a hint of slate. I was unable to detect any botrytis. The palate is rich and oozing as FH always is. There is significant fruit on the palate, but it is all kept clean by the bracing acidity. Really, a marvelous wine. Hold! 94 Pts

  • Very fresh and spry. Apricot and sultanas with a nice acidic back end.

  • It has been nearly 21 months since my prior bottle and the has started to slowly evolve in that time. Tropical fruits, honey, spices and floral notes on the nose. Close to full bodied with peach upfront, moving to golden tropical, especially pineapple and mango. The richness and density through the middle is impressive and coupled with the acidity, concealing some of the complexity that this wine will show in later years. Tart notes behind, especially lemon and orange. Overall, more honey than previously, but still kept in balance by the acidity. It's that contrast towards the back, along with the fruit notes in the beginning that make this wine special. Should continue to develop along these lines and clearly several years from peak. Next bottle for me, probably sometime in the later part of 2019, but that's simply because I enjoy this style of wine younger than typical, while the acidity is still really vibrant.

  • From 375. Really great stuff. Spicy, pleasantly sharp on the nose. Pure fruit with peach and apple. Finishes with sour and sweet, like a lemon drop melting in the mouth. Young, but I have two more so gave one a try and have no regrets.

  • Drank with a molitor auslese from the same year and at About the same price point. The molitor came across as denser, richer with better balance. This was more fragrant and complex but also much more subtle. Apricot, a hint of almond and honey. Good finish. Good Riesling but it definitely came out 2nd of this pair.

  • Very luxurious with sharp acidity. Grapefruit and honey.
Fantastic mouthfeel and long finish. Hints of stone fruits. Would have scored it higher but the nose is sadly quite lacking. Still, one of the best riesling I have had in awhile. Would buy again.

  • Maybe it was just the Indian food that I had with this wine that was excellent, but this bottle was just in exceptional form!! The perfect balance of sweetness and crispness. Really stood up beautifully next to the spices. Great stuff.

  • Strong peach notes along with spices, floral and honey on the nose. Opened at 47F, warming to 56F and while the flavor profile and the nose got more complex as it warmed, the acidity (which generally shows the most at lower temperatures) actually became more and more intense as the wine warmed, fully keeping pace with the sweetness of the fruit. 7.5% ABV and a bit above medium bodied but got richer and richer as the wine warmed and thanks to the acidity, never overtly sweet. Peach upfront, along with varied tropical fruit notes with tart orange and varied citrus behind (especially lemon). Good length on the mineral and acidity dominated finish. Obviously this is an extremely young wine, but I really enjoyed how the acidity kept an auslese level wine from showing as sweet and instead allowed it to showcase the richness and depth of the fruit, tinged with the tartness of the acidity. It's going to be very interesting to see how this wine evolves as it has many years to go.

  • PRANZO DA VINOGODI: Degustato alla cieca. Verdolino molto scarico. Ancora primario, quasi fermentativo. Colla, albume d' uovo e gas. In bocca è incredibile quanta sia l' acidità che copre completamente un residuo zuccherino elevato, tale da farlo sembrare appena appena dolce. Niente di speciale, anzi..... non è nè carne né pesce.
